Really? Do you think the server and bandwidth to stream the match is free?

i think that using the BBC infrastructure wouldnt cost LCFC anything. They however use it as another income stream.... which is fair enough but kindda puts people who live outside of Leicestershire or out of Radio Leicester range at a further disadvantage

just as a question about foxesplayer: how come the BBC ****s can essentially make the commentary pay per hear(?) when we still have to pay the license fee??? or do lcfc own the right and just choose not to allow the BBC to broadcast online.

either way, someone is a money grabbing ****er! Can you tell my player has gone down tonght?

(I think) The Football League owns the rights to commentary and has a deal with BBC for them to commentate on local radio, but online rights are different, and they are part of a deal with PremiumTV (the people that run Player) for them to broadcast commentary online.

BBC can only broadcast regionally, which is why you can't hear games on DAB either.

Similar with how live match and highlights packages are sold...

It's not just LCFC. Local radio can broadcast via their local radio station but are not allowed to broadcast online. That has to be via a subscription service. As far as I know, this is the same for all of the FL clubs.

What did you do before the age of the internet?

I definately begrudge paying £3 for a ****ing lukewarm pie served by someone who hates everything about working there. Thats why I don't go to the local chippy any more.

They aren't using the BBC's infrastructure and it isn't an income stream for the BBC. Also, you don't just get the commentary for the the subscription you pay.
