maybe Jose has a point here.
I didn't see the incident meself, but from everything I've heard and read about it, she wasn't at fault at all. Seemingly, Hazard didn't appear to be getting up and was possibly in serious difficulties and, most importantly, it wasn't herself that was the first of the medical staff to run onto the field, so it does make you wonder why it is that she is taking the brunt of the criticism.

Especially seeing as, as far as I'm aware, Mourinho didn't single her out either. Surely the papers aren't turning another story into something that it isn't?

That's a shockingly scurrilous suggestion! They surely wouldn't do such a thing, would they?

Surely the point is that Mourinho has thrown his toys out of the pram because two medical professionals went to a player who, in their judgement, needed their help. As far as I am aware, Mourinho does not have any medical qualifications yet he feels he should be able to overrule them. The FA should issue a statement supporting the medics - which I'm sure they would have done if this were not a star manager.

Surely the point is, Mourinho has stirred this up in an effort to deflect attention away from a disappointing team performance?

My guess is that you are right.

A football pundit called Edmund Burke wrote of Eva Carnero
"I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her with insult. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of Robbie Savage, Phil Neville and Leeds United fans has succeeded."

I wonder if there would have been such a fuss if Miss Carnero had not been what used to be called "a stunner."

Was the age of chivalry the same age where women supposedly needed men to look after then and were considered incapable of looking after themselves?

It is amazing that the newspapers and some fans seemingly lap it up.

Plenty of stupid people around though so it's not really that surprising..........

Yeah. Women are incapable of independent thought, you see.

Seriously, **** chivalry. Patriarchal nonsense.

Mention of Robbie Savage and Phil Neville would lead the perceptive reader to guess the reference to the Age Of Chivalry was not to be taken seriously. As usual Matt has got his History right and it seems to me that Miss Carnero as a qualified professional is far more admirable than the cosseted aristocratic women of the 14th century.

The Telegraph points out that if Miss Carnero had not come onto the pitch she would have been in trouble.
"the Chelsea medical staff were clearly summoned on to the field of play by the match referee to attend to a player. A refusal to run onto the pitch would have breached the duty of care required of the medical team to their patient"

I wonder if she has been racist in a casino, that would throw a whole new complexion on the number of ****s I give. It wouldn't change the number, just the complexion.

She needs it

That's all I'm prepared to say on the subject
