I reckon Mustapha Izzet who is stuck in the chelsea reserves might make a half decent player one day. There's also a chap called Lennon who's been playing for Crewe for a fair few seasons. How about a punt on him! Oh, and a Matthew Elliot..... Some punts are worth it, not all, but some...

From a read around the Hibs fans views, he seems to be a strong and pacey player who seemed to be a great acquisition but has since faded as a result of some clangers.
Fans have very mixed views about his departure. Also talk that he's a bit of a billy-big-bolloxs who thinks he's the best player in the world and has caused some disharmony at Hibs. Maybe just needs to be at a bigger club or managed by a bigger manager than Colin Calderwood!

What pleases me is that this perhaps shows that Sven has learnt something from his time in charge and sees the need for a physical pacey stopper to shore up what has been a soft centred back line, and for the criticism of being interested in ageing has beens, is now on the verge of signing a 25 year old from the SPL who has world cup experience but will also have had a decent introduction to the physicalities of British football.
As for comparisons with previous defensive acquisitions from the SPL, I don't remember any of the appearances Robbie Neilson has made at world cups so the comparisons are pretty futile.
Sven knows this player far better than any of us and I hope he will be given the time to bed in prove his worth. Could be just what we are missing.

Agreed. It could also be an absolute disaster too though. But that's the good thing about football, it's never predictable. I'll be leaving my judgements on the player until he's played a few games for us.
