Kamara says.....

"The Leicester job is a fantastic opportunity for somebody and whoever gets it will have a great chance of making real progress.

Leicester are the only team in the league to beat Watford this season and they are not that far away from being a very good team. Milan Mandaric has put his hand in his pocket, signed quite a few players at the start of the campaign and it's clearly a club with a good future ahead of it.

The departure of Martin Allen after four competitive games was strange, but that's nothing we haven't seen in football before.

I think Mandaric realised it wasn't going to work out between him and Martin and instead of letting it carry on - because he's got promotion in his mind this season - he did something about it.

A lot of chairmen wouldn't have done that. Rightly or wrongly he's got the courage of his convictions.

He then gave Gary Megson an opportunity to get back into football and it shows he was the right man because, all of a sudden, a Premier League club was chasing him. What Mandaric saw in Megson, Bolton saw as well and the lure of the Premier League took him away.

Joe Royle is now a frontrunner for the job and he is a very good manager. If they get Joe then great, but there are quite a few other managers out there.

Peter Reid deserves another opportunity at a club like this. He was placed under difficult circumstances at Coventry last time out and he did a decent job at Leeds, keeping them in the Premier League against all expectations. So if they get him or Joe they'd be getting a good manager.

The problem the next boss will have is that there isn't a regular goalscorer at the club. They are defensively sound enough and have decent players at the back. Teams find it difficult to break them down, but they simply aren't scoring enough at the other end.

They've got Collins John on loan at the moment and that could well help the situation. He's a good player and got his first goal against Barnsley last weekend.

Another forward, Matty Fryatt has slightly disappointed me because I thought he was someone who could go on and play at the top level. Maybe he still can because he's certainly young enough, but he's been disappointing over the last couple of seasons. Hopefully he will put that right.

There has been a big investment in players like DJ Campbell too, so the next manager is going to have to try and get the best out of them and maybe use the loan market to add a little bit more.

It's always hard with somebody else's players when you don't fancy them or they are not performing to the best of their ability. That can make life difficult, but they are just going to have to get on with what they've got.

I'm sure Mandaric will help as much as he can because he doesn't want to stay in the Championship. But the one thing you can say for sure is that anybody who works for him will have a chance.

The play-offs are not out of anybody's grasp in that division this season and that's certainly what Mandaric will be hoping for."

Or supposing that he is right: don't get sucked into Megson's version of history. We are not the worst club in the world and, with deft expenditure in January, we could still make the play-offs.

Clearly deluded - he thinks we already played Watford.
