The Aussies look like reducing the barmy army's ticket allocation to a paltry amount for the Ashes series down under late this year. And they call us whinging poms.:icon_roll They'd better learn to lose more gracefully in future.:icon_lol: Anyway i'm sure the ex pats will get their hands on enough tickets to make sure we out number them in their own backyard:icon_bigg

I'm growing to like the Aussie mentality to be fair.
It's a home fixture for them, they saw how important that was to us last summer and they will be trying to emulate the effect that the crowd factor had for us. And why not?
Still, the English thrive on the underdog, which is why 1,000 away fans will generally outsing 15-20,000 home supporters. I imagine we'll raise a pretty good barmy army in oz, but now they'll be even more determined to make a noise.
It's a long way off but I don't rate our chances already...

To win the Ashes in Aussie land would be great. Would truly show that the tide is changing then.

agreed

cant see it happening however

Mc Grath and Warnes swansong and the fact that the side is changing gives us every chance. The Aussies also know that we are capable of beating them. IMO we can draw this series and retain the Ashes.:)

I agree, our team is now packed with big game players, people who raise their game against the best, certainly think we have a more than fair chance of drawing the series at least. Also the wickets will suit our batsmen, we have good stroke players in our side and the fast wickets should lead to some real batting fireworks from the likes of Trescothick, Vaughan, Strauss, Pieterson, Flintoff and Geriant Jones.

I also think we now have a bowling attack capable of manuipulating the conditions over in Aus. We just need to unearth a decent spinner to replace or back up Giles.
