Why couldn't he download a thing?

'Unlimited download' still has a fair usage policy attached to it, the same as any other company on the market. But even if he had taken the piss out of the fair usage, it wouldn't stop him downloading anything, it would just throttle his connection speed back to stop him hogging all the bandwidth. Also, it wouldn't kick in after 30 days, it just does not work like that.

I think there's probably more to this tale than your friend has told you.

I can only go on what he told me, and tbh I don't understand a lot of what he said. He said he'd been arguing with then for a week and they denied everything . When he did speed tests he was getting good speeds but when he tried P2P he got absolutely nothing.

Like I mentioned elsewhere, a lot of companies traffic shape, especially P2P ports. But it would have been doing it from the start, not after 30 days.
