Leicester City Football Club has confirmed today (Monday 24 October) that, by mutual agreement, Sven-Göran Eriksson has ceased to be the First Team Manager, with immediate effect.

First Team Coach Derek Fazackerley has also left the Club.

The Club and its Board of Directors would like to thank Sven and Derek for the contribution they have made to Leicester City during their 13 months at King Power Stadium.

Academy Director Jon Rudkin and Coach Mike Stowell will jointly assume the role of acting Manager of the first team, with assistance from Development Coach Steve Beaglehole. This will begin with training on Tuesday morning ahead of Saturday's npower Championship trip to West Ham United.

The process of recruiting a new permanent Manager will begin in the coming days. There will be no further comments from the Club or any comment on the recruitment process until an appointment is made.

If this is true then they haven't already got someone else lined up for the job.

I suspect it's not true.

Faz seemed to think they had someone lined up. I expect an announcement before Thurs and they'll take charge after the WHU game.

It wasn't advertised on the Leicester Mercury jobsite today.

Bob with his usual cheeky insider info.

Does said manager have a preference for the 3-5-2 formation?

I can announce it isn't me...I'm gainfully employed...not like most of you wasters...probably.

Just seen the Faz interview. He was asked if he was going to remain as caretaker manager.
To which he replied " they have someone in place for that" meaning Rudkin and Stowell.
According to Andrew Neville they will loil at applications and then make a decision . So
on the face of it a manager may not be in place. But you never know with sly bastards at the top.

I'd be very surprised if someone isn't lined up. Doubt they'll want the West Ham game being the start of the new guy's reign though.

They've been thinking about this since before we played Brighton. If they've not got someone lined up its hugely nieve.
