If Cotterill really is a candidate then Burnley have missed a trick in the possibility of landing a bit of compo. They could easily have in discussions with Cotteril when he was unhappy have told his agent to informally tip off Milan that he is available. My concern about Cotterill is that he was coach under Micky Adams. I don't think the football was great for most of that time.
I think Tigianni and then Royle are the best of the bunch with Cotterill and then Reid trailing behind. Having said that I do seriously think that Taggart is worth a punt.

I think it's agreed we'd all like Tigana here the most. Cotterill is my second tho. Sod all the rest of the out of work / can't get work pish on offer.

burnley are supposed to be announcing his successor this afternoon..they dont mess about if its true :icon_roll

lets hope if he comes doesnt do a megson like he did at stoke when he took an assistants job to get in the prem with sunderland

If he comes here it should be with the intention of being a Premiership Manager.

With us.

an ex-player is caretaking.

Cotterill said...

“We’ve gone for three or four players this year who have opted to go elsewhere in the Championship,” Cotterill said earlier this week. “There’s not a lot I can do about that.

This is why i think he wouldnt do any good here.Wont have the pulling power to bring in some quality.

Where John Tigana would.

You've illustrated a desire to delve further for the truth here, even having the audacity to back up your point with factual quotes.

This sort of level-headedness will earn you a reputation.

Players don't go to clubs in the Championship because of the manager - they go for the 'package':
Manager
Chairman
Salary
Squad
Facilities
Likelihood of getting to show their boat at the London boat show
Promotion prospects
...ensuing transfer prospects

Cot'trill may not be Kevin Keegan - but he's a couple of leagues from being Peter fecking Reid.

I'd hoped for better - I feared we'd get worse - I'll not be unhappy about this

LCFC are like a Ferrari kit car, looks the part on the outside (ground, training ground etc) but really it has got a Ford Escort engine in it.

Until we can get a better engine in LCFC, we will not be able to attract a 'top' manger that can drive us forward! ;)
