And its not like Leicester fans to be fickle is it ?

every club has fickle fans and we are no exception

Why isn't he scoring more goals then?

He still not great in front of goal regardless of supply IMO. His strength is holding the ball up and for that hes been invalauble.

very true what he has done this season has more than contributed to where we are in the league and we missed him last night

I think a large amount is down to being fickle. The same people who were chanting "Barry, Barry" last night were the same people who were booing him last season. He hasn't done anything to earn a change in a opinion as he hasn't played.

I agree some fans are fickle. My point was that not all the original dissenters towards Howard who now think he is doing well are fickle. As for the cheers of " Barry, Barry " they were aimed towards me as they though I was that bloke in Eastenders.

I'd imagine a good few cheer a player just to fit in with those around them.

Booo!

He is doubtful for Cobblers, time for a change in tactics( cant risk Dickov or Hayles again) is Sappleton back off loan?

Is it fickle though Spion? Or has he upped his game so peoples opinions have changed?

Hard to be sure, but certainly people are realising now just what he brings to the party whereas this wasn't always so obvious before.

When every goalkick goes to him (even surrounded by 5 defenders), those who don't know what he brings to the party are pretty stupid.

I don't know I can only comment on what I've seen in his Luton and Derby days and a lot of his goals came from balls crossed in from the byline
We should get Chris O'Grady back,he was quality ...remind me where he is now ?:icon_conf:icon_wink

On loan at bradford from oldham. Looked a good player, shame we needed the 50k

Sorry if this has been mentioned as part of the 'Post Match' thread but if there was any evidence needed on how important Howard is to our team then yesterday was it.

IMO, he is the single irreplaceable player in the team. He has been immense for us this season and how people were calling for him to be dropped only a few weeks ago was beyond me then and still is.

Do they really think the Dicov/Fryatt partnership would have been more fruitful?

Also, I actually think Barry Hayles did well last night and showed far greater presence in unsettling their defence in 20 minutes than Dicov had for the previous 70. I believe he should start on Saturday if Howard has not recovered.

Jimmy everything you say makes sence. Dickov really is past it and hayles did much better when he came on. What worries me is say howard gets injured after the close of the loan transfer window we would be stuck.

I think its imperative that we bring somebody in to take the burden off Howard, and to provide further options and cover for injuries, suspension and loss of form.

IMO we need a player who has some physical presence but if possible a player who can add some pace to the attacking options. Liam Dickinson or Ade Akinbiyi would be decent addititions IMO. However unless the loan situation can be addressed then I really cannot see MM sanctioning the permanent sigining of a player likely to cost in the region of 500k.

Good shout. I doubt if he would be willing to spend more time on the bench than playing though.

How about David Dickinson, not doing much these days since he left Bargain Hunt.
