Some rumours going around the internetz saying he’s returning to help out with recruitment.......

Don't we all miss those confusing pictures . . .

Been saying he should come back for a while.

Would be a great move

Would be absolutely delighted if this is true.

Our recruitment has been poor since he left.

It was poor for some time before he left too - Slimani, Hernandez, Musa. Presumably he was involved in all of those.

It was always more than recruitment. He usually had a plan for how to integrate his signings into the club. That’s where the real failure was. And why Walsh’s role always had a training ground remit.

Musa and Slimani have obvious qualities but we never got them properly introduced into the side.

All three scorers at Wembley this afternoon were highly rated by Walsh.

Not his fault they never did it for us. He sees potential like nobody else.

Exactly. I don't see how he can be blamed for them.

Musa is slightly different as we tried to sign him in the Jan window before, but I don't think we'd tried to get Slimani before Walsh left?

Most transfers are flops. What was remarkable was seeing the potential in Mahrez and Kante. In the case of Kante Claudio was doubtful because of his size or rather lack of it.

Mr Walsh used to sit up high where he did a more or less excellent job in the stands sending down messages to Kevin Phillips (less effective) and Mike Stowell (more effective ) . Mike Stowell regularly would go to Nigel with messages from Walsh On the other hand Kevin Phillips provided more fun as he seemed unable to work the machine . One of Mr Walsh jobs was to come down from the stands five minutes into the match to show Mr Phillips how to turn the thing on.

Unlike Mr Stowell Mr Walsh seemed to have a deep serenity. This was more than the Gallic indifference of Monsieur Bonnevay. Steve Walsh Sr was the Yoda of Leicester City.
