:038::038::038: Lee is my favourite stand-up ever and hes finally back on TV for the first time since the incredibly under-rated and overlooked This Morning with Richard not Judy

Oh, apart from the Jerry Springer: The Opera he co-wrote, which was the most complained about show in British TV history til Jade Goodies racist slur on Celebrity Big Brother

Not sure if this will be that amazing, because it sounds a bit thrown together, but still should be good stuff

Cue 10 people coming in saying Lee is boring and slow-paced to the extreme :icon_wink, i know hes not for everyone, but i think his style is really unique and ****ing piss yourself hilarious

Not from me, I've never heard of him.

Is he one of these you have to be intelligent to find him funny, or can anybody get him?

It depends, nothing to do with intelligence, a lot of his stuff is actually quite low level humour: vomiting in Jesus' arse etc. hes just really slow paced, dry and rhythmic, the way he talks is almost hypnotic at times. Just a lot of people find his pace really boring, i can absolutely see why, but i think hes the funniest stand-up i ever seen

You've sold him to me

Can't wait now

:038: One of my all time favourite programmes. Not been so enamoured of his solo projects. Hit and miss for me. I will be watching though. :023:

I loved Fist of Fun - "you want the moon on a stick!". The work they did with Kevin Eldon (the most underated comedy actor in British comedy ever) was hilarious - Rod Hull, the curious orange and the King of Hobbies with the flask of weak lemon.

I agree about Kevin Eldon, absolutely fantastic comic actor. Fist of Fun was great too, especially the real Rod Hull "I am him!" i still prefered TMWRNJ, one of my favourite shows ever, so funny, and despite it being quite topical hasnt really dated at all.

Though how they got away with some of their stuff on a Sunday morning was beyond me. Endless talk of bestiality, slagging off religion, blatantly saying the word "t*at" and alluding to the word "c*nt" on more than one occassion.

Herring's stand-up stuff is great as well, though not quite as good, its similar though, very much cringe-humour and pushing things way past the line of how far things should go, id say Herring does it a lot more so than Lee actually, as Lee also has these extended political Bill Hicks-esque rants in his piece.

Actually, Herring was on the last series of Buzzcocks, first thing i can ever remember him doing on tv since TMWRNJ, so i didnt know whether he was becoming quite popular again or just promoting his latest tour.

:icon_lol: i told you hes not for everyone and a lot of people find him boring

in other news, Richard Herring is playing in Nottingham and Derby next month and tickets are still available from what i gether

He just wasnt funny.

Seemed like he had double standards.

He slagged off the "dumbing down" of books, yet had sketches at the end of his jokes to make sure the viewer actually got each joke.

Last nights episode was shit too, exept for the march of the mallards bit.

Its definitely not been that great even as a huge fan of the guy, either its just B-material chucked together or hes losing it. Hes being/getting too bitter, like when Charlie Brooker or Bill Hicks just start ranting instead of actually being funny.

Plus the sketches are awful

It was a wonderful irony that the Del boy clip was the funniest thing in the show and the sketches were just appalling.
