I wonder who decided to place this story on the web site and I wonder what would happen if the deal went tits up because of this. :? :? :-( :-( ;-)

Can't really read Slovenian, but managed to find my way onto ND Gorica's official website and found his profile
http://www.nd-gorica.com/index.php?&vie=ctl&gr1=ekp&gr2=&id=2005030715574345

I'm guessing "teža/višina" means goals/games, although I can't actually find a translator anywhere online. If I'm right though, then he has 70 goals in 184 games for them. That's a ratio of about 0.38..not all that impressive, but better tthan our current lot ;)

Oh and Sky have reported on it today. Took them a while. By the sounds of it it's actually a free transfer, and we just have to buy a nominal fee, like we did with Williams

Rumours are, on another forum, that this player had a trial with Darlington last year, they wanted to sign him but could not afford his wages. ;-)

This is as yet an unconfirmed rumour.

I'm afraid that's weight and height.

I don't wish to upset anyone, but I think we have to be realistic about Jani Strum (btw, pronounced Yanni Shtrum). I know that part of the world quite well. When Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia it only had one team in the top flight - Olimpija from Ljubljana, the capital. Olimpija were at best a mid table side in the Yugodlav league. Strum's Gorica side has only featured in the Slovenian league. The country only has 2m inhabitants. Its not too difficult for them to get into the Champions league qualifying rounds, but this does not mean that they are particularly good. I reckon the standard of the Slovenian league is probably like the Championship. Is it worthwhile spending some money on Jani or someone closer to home? Time will tell.

I trust Levein's judgement

Well if he is as good at football as Joe Strummer was at being the clashes front man then I'll be happy. Leicester Calling indeed. If you see him lost in the supermarket, point him to the hammersmith palais or the spanish buns.
