so who bought him then?............:102: the bloke from Pukka Pies?

Stop being an arse... you know what people mean by "milan buy". We all know they are technically all Milan buys as he owns the club.

Highland never trhinks, what a nasty thing to say about him

I don't know how I could trhink such a thing. I'm sorry highland I'll trhink before I post next time.

well when is a loan a buy?
I understand your logic, BG.

Like that £60 you "borrowed" off me 6 months ago for those Wednesday 13 tickets :icon_wink:icon_bigg

That is certainly not classed as a "buy".

I wasn't, purely because I wouldn't know how to define a "Milan-buy" or indeed what one even is.

Please can you enlighten me?

From what was said at the 'meet the manager' evening, the scouting bloke had been watching him for a few months, so that would mean it wasn't a 'Milan-buy' wouldn't it?

edit: Maybe I should read the whole thread before picking which quotes to reply back to.:icon_roll

I think when Tunchev first came to the club most of us were thinking its another "Milan-buy" so he could be another Keabi, but he has really shown his true class. I have never seen him play for Leicester but i will see him at the Hereford game and the Palace Fa cup game, but the way he is going on with his business Steve Walsh, Gerry Taggat, Matt Elliot all come to mind, he is going in the right Direction, 7 Man of the match awards so far, brillliant!!!!!

Of course in one sense with the exception of Fryatt and King they are all Milan buys. However, my understanding is that the only one where Milan made the decision was Ngotti. Milan wanted Jimmy Floyd Hasselbank but Marin Allen thought Carl Cort was better and had his way. (The decision to buy Jimmy Neilson seems to have been made by Martin Allens agent).
I asked about Tunchev at the Meet The Manager evening and was told that Steve Walsh had been monitoring him for some time. Obviously Nigel must take most of the credit for the season but the superb signings are largely down to Steve Walsh.
What a pity we did not have the Pearson-Walsh combination when we spent so much money at the start of last season.

Allen was a league two manager, Mandy knew that when he signed him. He also knew he would need help with transfers as we were two leagues higher than where he had previously been, he had no knowledge of kind of players we would need.

That's why he got in Fucillio (from everton) as head scout and Don Mackay (from middlesborough) as Director of football... or whatever he was.

People like Hellings and Sappleton had been on trial at Boro under Mackay. Kaebi had been scouted by Portsmouth quite a bit when Milan was there... not a coincidence he shows up here!!? As you say N'Gotty was already signed by Mandy before Allen arrived.... How many more of the signings had links to these three?

Sure, they'll say Allen had the final choice. It was their job though to put suitable candidates in front of him. Allen was out of his depth obviously, but the people around him did nothing to help him and are as much to blame as he is... if not more so.

I thought Neilsen was bought on the say so by that so called 'scout' who was sacked a few weeks later?

You may well be right. I think Steve Walsh is much more than chief scout though "recruiting" is part of his job. He also has the job of sitting high up to watch from a different vantage point (next to Milan) and talk through walkie-talkie with Craig Shakespeare about anything tactical he spots.
I do feel that at the moment the playing side of the club is bring very well run. The trouble is the last time I felt this Peter Taylor was manager and we were top of the Premiership; that feeling did not last.
