I just switched on to The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on TalkSport and they're receiving emails about players cleaning toilets. I hadn't got a clue what they're talking about or why until the sports update came on at the top of the hour. I just had a look online and this story is in today's Sun newspaper:

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007350392,00.html

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. I'm ready for the trashing...

explains why steven hughes hair looks like a loo brush on team photo:icon_bigg

Well, he said it was total rubbish. He didn't get the players to clean the toilets at all and that they worked in the other areas of the ground such as the ticket office and club show (which is what we already know).

So why did he say that specifically the other day (the quote that has been picked up by every newspaper) ? :icon_roll

Is it a variety performance or just a big song and dance?

On Monday night he told 2000 of us they did clean the toilets.. is he making stuff up for effect now? :icon_roll

It might appear to be a nothing story but....it looks to me like self-seeking publicity and misjudged at that.

Part of Martin Allen's job is to make good players want to sign for Leicester City. I don't think this sort of publicity helps at all. He just appears daft.

i acknowledge that he has introduced much needed energy and enthusiasm to the club....but I have a feeling that this sort of nonsense will have lost its appeal within a few months unless he can back it up with results.

It's merely the next step in the cultivation of the cult of "He's flippin' bonkers that Martin Allen......"

Many fans will lap it up and love it - and clearly the media do as well, which is not altogether a bad thing

Too true....but I have my doubts whether this is the sort of manager for the long haul that is needed to restore the club.

I could well be wrong and will be only to glad if I am.

We haven't played a game yet

Levein was supposed to be for the long-haul. And look at how uncharismatic, clueless and devoid of any awareness of how bad he was. Allen has been a breath of fresh air and has brought something completely new and different to the club. I welcome him to the club with open arms and am quite happy for him to do what he's been doing at the club in recent weeks. It beats the dross and of Taylor, Levein and Kelly anyday, who in comparison, were as boring as watching paint dry compared to Allen.
