Henderson

Kenton McCarthy Kisnorbo Johansson

Low Wesolowski Hughes Porter

Hume Fryatt

McAuley Logan O'Grady Williams Stearman

Maybury in for Kenton if he's not fit to play... I'd like to see RK keep ythe same keeper and back four. We looked good defensively against Coventry but I think the more the back five can play together the better they'll become. Hopefully we can bring on McAuley if we're winning at some stage.

Does anyone know what's happened to Chambers? Games like this good be a good opportunity to give him some valuable experience and he doesn't even have a squad number this year.

They way our younger players behave he's probably in the Priory Clinic by now

Pre-season training from the OS. Should have rung some alarm bells.

- That's what I would try....

Kelly seems to be talking about the game as if he will field our strongest 11. Which is no bad thing IMO.

Not Pete Doherty is it ?

Stangely enough, no. It's a friend who you would never associate with mental problems, good job, happy marriage, outgoing. Tried to top himself a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately after taking a cocktail off booze and pills texted his wife before passing out, and she called an ambulance. Under mega pressure at work apparently, and has now been diagnosed an alcoholic. However, I think his major problem is that he is a Tigers fan ( he come from a village just outside Leicester ).

I can see it both ways Durham TBH. On the one hand it helps gel a side, on the other how needless any injury or suspension could be; this game for me would be more about seeing who could slot in and where should we lose the likes of McCarthy, Kismybum, Fryatt and Low.

it would make sense to play McAuley OGrady and Hume as they need games, but we shouldnt take it too easy, I went to the friendly and we were fortunate (and we fielded a strong team)

Also, we need to proceed in this competition to try and generate some cash with a good run - we need to play as strong a team as possible. In addition, we are still bedding in the likes of Low, and playing a settled team makes sense at the moment.

I can't see any harm in giving logan a start in a low profile match like this.

It's not a low profile game, it is the start of our cup success for the 2006/2007 season

Thinking about it I would make a few changes to freshen things up and use the game to give few players a chance to stake a claim. My team would be :

Logan

Stearman
Johansson
Kisnorbo
Sheehan

Low
Weso
Williams
Porter

Hume
Fryatt

Subs
Hammond
Tiatto
McAuley
Hughes
Dodds

I'd leave Kenton out since it's not worth the risk if he's struggling. Other than that I'd keep a strong team, just try a couple of different things that aren't likely to be tried in a game against stronger opposition. Basically take AJ out for Weso, and pit Sheehan in for Nils because he needs games without the reserves playing because if Nils gets injured/suspended we'll need him.

So

Henderson
Stearman (chance to regain form and confidence), McCarthy, Kisnorbo, Sheehan
Low, Weso, Williams, Porter
Hume, Fryatt

Would be nice for Logan to play a first team game, but I think we'd be better playing Henderson so the defence can be settled and he can get used to directing those players.

On the bench we can be more experimental so if we're winning we can give players a chance... Logan, Sylla, Dodds, O'Grady, Kenton.
