Didnt get to last nights game so cant really say who should play and who shouldnt but I was wondering if anyone who was there last night has anty thoughts on what the team should be for saturday. I know we won but from what has been posted and the reports i have seen and heard we were from convincing. Personally would like to see MA play 3 in midfield Gudjonson, Williams and Nalis and then play scowy just behind the front two. I dont see the point of playing 4-4-2 when we are struggling on the left hand side for a quality winger.

This is what I would play, although I doubt Micky will...

-----------------Walker

Makin-----Dabizas---Keown----Stewart

Gillespie---Nalis--Gudjonsson--Scowcroft

----------Connolly-----Benjamin

Subs:
Pressman
Williams
Blake
Heath (if fit, if not, Stearman)
Gemmill

I think the biggest problem MA has is getting the balance of the team right.
IMO Gudjonnson has to play in centre midfield to give us a ball winner, to be fair that is why we havent seen Williams at his best, him and Nalis too similar.

On the left to be fair neither Stewart nor Wilcox are full backs and that is leading to some uncertainty and indecision between them. IMO both these players should be judged on their performances on the wing once Tiatto comes in then are no excuses.

Although i stated in my previous post that i would like to see MA pick 3 in midfield I doubt this will happen as i believe he will stick to 4-4-2.

i agree with cobbo, although i would like to see canero in there somewhere

I would too, I just don't know if he's fit yet...if he is, I'd have him in the squad ahead of Gemmill...

Cobbo i think you've got it just right there. Blake looked like a lazy bastad yesterday and if thats his game then he better walk out the door now. kudos to Ma thou to have the guts to bring benji on - he could of had the wrong effect if he had missed that shot giving derby the edge. but then football is a chance game really.

Williams looks weak and barley saw the ball in the first half - and for a Cm player thats pretty poor really! Nalis should stay in because he poses a danger on the edge of the area and because he wins a lot in the air and can play a ball right to a players feet.

Gillespie looked good on the wing and added something on the wing WILCOX is shat! He needs to spend some time warming the bench IMO.

Scowy is good because he plays a backwards header for conelly to run onto.

jordy has to saty in at the moment - he ok, just not great.

I think :

Walker

Makin Keown Dabizas Stewart

Nalis Joey Wilcox

Scowy

Conolly Benjamin

subs: Blake, Williams, Heath(if fit), Pressman, Gemmill

We have drawn against West Ham with only ten men and won away at a local derby

This from a team that is still getting used to each other, getting used to playing in this league, and getting up to full fitness

Why on earth would we change the team ?
I'm not even going to comment about changing the formation, 'cos that's just bonkers talk

If we lose or draw tomorrow, then we might think about it (Tiatto will be back next week anyway). And if we are struggling during the match, then there are plenty of sub options

Until that happens, just let 'em get on with it !

But Wilcox!!! :(

Yes, even Wilcox. Micky's hands are tied to a certain extent with suspensions and injuries. We've played 2, got 4 points. Heavens forbid if we should go on a losing streak. Some of you will be calling for Gary Linekers head never mind Micky's. It is a marathon not a sprint, leave it to those in charge

Spot on xsub, if we had kept 11 on the pitch against WH we would have 6 pts :D

It makes the most sense as Scowy looked just as good on the left and Gillespie looked pretty good too.

With Tiatto left back we are sorted.

What makes most sense is not making changes just for the sake of it until we actually lose a game !

It's not making changes for the sake of it. During the Derby game we looked best in the last 15 mins. Why change the team that finished that game?

aaah, the old, "you don't change a winning team" argument

will man utd bring back rio ferdinand and ruud van nistelrooy?

nah, cos they won

No we shouldnt make changes for the sake of it but it has been highlighted in the first two games that the balance in the middle of the midfield is not right and also that we are shite on the left and Tricky deserves a chance he took his goal well and Blake is clearly not fit. There is no point in waiting for a defeat just to make changes. Saturday is going to be a battle as that little w*nker is going to have Millwall fired up so i think MA needs to get Gudjohnsen in the team, strengthen the left hand side by moving scowy and play tricky instead of Blake - horses for courses !
