Refreshingly, there's been quite a bit of coverage about this more recently. It often gets less "publicity" than it should do. It was a terrible thing.

Was at Luton that day watching Leicester lose 4-0, it didn't sound too bad when the news first came through, how wrong it was. Ex-Leicester man Marc North was playing for Lincoln City in that game, ironically on loan from Luton.

Everyone seemed to think it was quite funny a match being abandoned due to a fire. It was only seeing the pictures through the window of a TV shop in Luton after the game that made us realise how bad it was.

Was at Luton that day watching Leicester lose 4-0, it didn't sound too bad when the news first came through, how wrong it was. Ex-Leicester man Marc North was playing for Lincoln City in that game, ironically on loan from Luton.

Most City players were already "on the beach" for that game, including a certain Mr Lineker in possibly his last ever game for City. I had gone all the way from the South Coast to watch it because of that and felt cheated.
I was quite pleased that only a few months later he was on the losing side at Filbert Street for his new team and his replacement at City had such a Bright start.

I remember the news of the event and watching a man with his hair on fire, That memory will live with me forever, it was truly awful. The BBC back in those days didn't have the editing capabilities that exist today, so their pictures went out 'raw' I never saw it again and I'm glad I haven't, but I do wonder what happened to that poor bloke.

I don't think it harms in reminding people why football grounds had to change, although many feel that it has gone too far. What happened at Bradford could have happened anywhere.

Actually, they did. They may have more capabilities now, but in terms of editing it certainly existed then.

I know it did, I didn't say they couldn't edit but their ability to do it quickly did not exist. The TV camera's were there and they put the news out without editing what people would see, hence my memories of that day. Back then editing consisted of literally cutting the recording tape and taking out the bad bits and then sticking it back together making it more palatable, you literally used sellotape to join the two cut ends together. No digital gizmo's then. I used to do it with music on a reel to reel tape recorder cutting out adverts and the DJ. No doubt others of my age will remember doing the same thing.

Yes, but the principle is exactly the same then as now. If they push out a live feed, it is what it is, it's live feed.
