I think this is what is so irksome with the whole situation, we had a golden opportunity to cement ourselves as a massive force in the Premiere league and potentially Europe. There was something magical about us rising from the ashes after relegation to league one, then the foundations laid by NP, his team and the club, to staying with Cambiasso and then eventually winning the league.

It can be achieved again and I agree with many on here it requires a huge painful and honest RCA to take place. There is nothing more uncomfortable than turning a mirror upon yourself and your organisation to learn and progress. I took immense pride as a fan at how we rose to the top with sports science and fantastic recruitment.

To reach the top of the Premiere League you have two choices:

1. Spend your way there

2. Targeted development and taking risks on unknown players. Most managers are not afforded this opportunity.

I think most fans were genuinely happy for us when we won the league, we took the 2nd option and demonstrated what can be achieved, we now look at Brighton as the trend setter, that was us not so long ago. The frustrating part is that we can return to those days it just takes the will and the desire and above all, taking the risk!

Ah, the problem of the interweb and disinformation etc....

Such fan perspectives (and it is only that) can have a misunderstanding of what's at play and be factually inaccurate yet none-the-less portray a semblance of authority. A web page doesn't make it true.

As much as I like to consider BR as a sociopath (and not a psychopath btw) I am in no way qualified to offer that as a judgement. Equally, I haven't a clue what Rudkin's nor Whelan's job actually entails, their remits nor areas of expertise. Whelan, for instance, might be playing a blinder for all I know. I can judge only on results (and, true, that hardly goes well for them) So whilst I won't go personal, I can hold the board collectively at fault. And repeatedly so. Hence, I would like to see a major clearout and reset, if only to have some freshness and avoid locked in thinking.

I still say it to this day, I was complete in 2016. Since then, whatever comes doesn't really bother me much.

Alas that is true.

However, it was also the platform and chance to see 40k crowds at Leicester, a young generation kitted out in Royal Blue everywhere, the ability to cherrypick the best youths in East Midlands. A real legacy.

The relegation forthcoming puts considerable livelihoods reliant on LCFC (internally or externally) at risk. It's a city which has suffered badly enough post-Covid and its football team losing 30% of its capacity every two weeks is going to really hurt. This is delusion at the top-level of LCFC what annoys me. Hence I have my bizarre dislike like that this squad of spanners spends most of its time in West Bridgford with the Forest Hooray Henrys.

Slightly disagree on individual blame when it comes to Rudkin.

The DoF role is now very common within football. Fans are simply comparing and contrast to other DoF's performances and communication (Leeds for example, their DoF as hopeless as he's been put himself forward for a podcast interview in the summer to explain their departures and plans).

I've signed myself for three years of outright combating fans apathy, so I am an absolute idiot.

I am interested to see what conclusions I come to in three years time. Whether we have an incredibly apathetic fanbase (or society as a whole is like), or maybe the club has change to such a point I am not representative of the club, or I am painting handrails down Saffron Dynamo all summer or Leicester Fosse are playing out of St Andrews.

I’ve been job hunting for a couple of months now.

A few weeks ago an agency sent me to an interview for a job I could have done backwards with my eyes shut. It was a fair bit lower paid than I really need to pay my bills, but I thought I’d give it a go. It’s just a few months, after all.

So the employer interviewed, by all accounts, multiple excellent candidates over a period of a couple of weeks, including me. The feedback I got specifically was very positive. I had a good feel about it too, the interviewers were decent enough, seemed pretty switched on.

Ultimately, however, they decided to hire… nobody, and then immediately re-listed the job. Total ****ing waste of everyone’s time.

Would anyone be surprised to learn this interview was with LCFC?
