It's make a mockery of the show if she announced it to the world that she'd still been given a job despite coming second.

They both work for Sugar's company for a short while before he makes the decision. It's a known 'secret' so I don't know why they just don't mention it in the programme. His decision is bound to be skewed by their time working for him. Saira Khan said as much as well.
