The hysterically annoying and totally unfounded, but traditional, January 2025 rumours thread.

Has there ever been decent evidence that Dewsbury-Hall is a good PL level player? Certainly one worth spending a lot of money on in transfer/wages?

I think we'd be mad to go back there.
No. I’ve said it before on here, but he reminds me of the Tasmanian Devil, when he’s got the ball. It’s all too fast and furious, especially for a top end team.

Weirdly I wasn't his biggest fan for most of his time here - but he won me over more as last season went in, and I do think this team misses his energy in midfield, and his ability to carry the ball forwards.

But would prefer a loan deal only.
Yep he did what we needed him to do last year and deserves credit for that, and it clearly meant a lot to him. And I like him. But really a good squad player at best for most PL teams.

Well I like him. Thought he was the difference maker for us last season and we’ve suffered in his absence.

He deserves better and should be playing regular football. He’d improve any of the sides in the bottom half of the table, including us.

We probably can't match the wages and/or he'd turn us down, but hopefully Maguire doesn't get picked under Amorim and would be open to a move. He'd improve our defence considerably.

I walk with a stick & turn 60 in less than a fortnight & I'd improve our defence.

We've all been laughing our tits off at Maguire on here for the last 2 years so I don't see how now he's the answer. There must be better options.
