The hysterically annoying and totally unfounded, but traditional, January 2025 rumours thread.

Well you're not reading the same comments that I am.

They're delighted at the prospect.

All saying that Dawson did great last year but his legs have gone now (he's 35 in 3 months).

I'm any case, that's not the main issue. The problem is that Wolves want Coady. So we must not give him to them.
And If we want Dawson then they must not give him to us?

Coady is of little use to us. Dawson may be of much more use. Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face simply doesn't make sense in this instance. Coady won't strengthen them as much as Dawson will strengthen us.

Not necessarily, there are plenty of examples in life of owners who do not manage things and are badly advised.

I've got a mate who owns a property and rented it out. He let an agent run it for him. He was full of good intentions, didnt want the tennents to pay more than a reasonable rent, he didn't even want to make much of a profit. It's just that his dad had left him the house, in his will, and he just wanred somewhere to keep his money.

But the tennants were wankers, wrecked the house, stripped it bare, the house lost its value, and the agents, who were supposed to look after it, were basically shit and did nothing to either get new tennants or redress the loss.

Now everyone in the street is complaining because it looks like a ****ing bombsite, and they want it sorted.

Yeh, so my mate..... who I haven't made up,....is in a bit of quandary. He's got money and could do it up, get a new agent and new nice tennants? He doesn't know what to do and is asking me for advice.

What should I tell him?
Well if it was in the UK then I'd ask an agent to fully manage it, less income but they will fix everything. Maybe Oz doesn't have such an option

Absolute madness.

There’s a 100,000 reasons per week why Leicester will hand over Coady

He's no worse than Faes or Vesterguard, and at least he's a bit vocal on the pitch. I'd have him in our starting XI now, but would happily replace him (as I would most of our starting XI)

Leicester City have rejected an approach from Sunderland for midfielder Kasey McAteer.

Sunderland presented an offer of a loan with an obligation to buy for £8million, rising above £10m with add-ons.

This proposal was rebuffed but Sunderland are expected to return with another offer while Leicester search for a replacement.

Coady's a bit gobby no? Strikes me as it any rate. Self designated spokesman, gave it the 'senior player' yap from the moment he arrived. Shame he never quite backs it up on the pitch. Maybe better suited to a different set up, whereas Dawson might be more familiar. Worth a try? If it costs nothing why not but, dear lord , is this what we've come to? Like borrowing your neighbour's lawn mower or something.

I'd have Dawson over all of our current CBs. He's much better than any of them.
Not sure about much better but I agree I'd have him ahead of any of our other CBs.

Doesn't sound like it's really happening though.

Snap their hands off, we'll never get offered anywhere near £10m for him ever again!

Where has this come from??

David Ornstein. He may be just a journalist, but he's a fairly reputable one. That doesn't mean that it's true, however.
One of the more reliable sources for sure so I'd imagine there is something in it but knowing us, we'll have a silly valuation on him like £25m.

Fab was tweeting we had rejected bids for Thomas too and that must be due to perceived under valuation, as it is certainly not for his contributions on the pitch!
