The hysterically annoying and totally unfounded, but traditional, January 2025 rumours thread.

Anyone else think that Van Nistelrooy might be using some of his contacts to get some proper players in....

I just have this feeling that we might get a couple of big names to help us out.

He said in a presser that he had his contacts book well and truly opened and the club had theirs opened too.

Palace are happy enough with the current situation. So the only thing is if we or the players agent can get somebody to take him on in a league like the US one.

My guess is that we're doing the touting around of him because it's in our interest to find someone to take him. We'd still probably have to pay him to play for someone in the US.

It's actually Adrian Silva levels of incompetence from Rudkin this one.
This reminds me of a film I'm just watching "Kill the Irishman".
At one point a big Mafia boss lends some money to the Irishman. On the way there the courier loses it, before the Irishman even sees it. However, he still has to pay it all back, plus mafia interest. Spoiler alert it ends up with the Irishman being killed. It all seems so unfair. It's like watching a Rudkin business deal.

Just a wild guess here. Is the “Irishman” actually a yank?

So his grandad probably drank some Guinness 100 years ago. For the “greatest country on earth” they sure are desperate to pretend to be something else all the ****ing time. Hyphenated twats.
Fair enough. I definately would not call myself English-Australian, because then I'd sound like a Complete-Twat.

"Nah, Prem football maybe, professional football even, but the game itself... The game changes; has changed, will forever change. Just ask Aussie Ange. **** all we can do about it so position yourself accordingly, that's the choice you can make. Or whinge. Or join FoxesTrust. Whatever makes you feel good. The world's your lobster"

Football evolves, probably a lot of men that are now in their 40/50/60s that went to football pre 1992. Turn up on matchday pay your money at the turnstile and stand on the terrace, Football was a working man's game that survived of gate receipts, a foreign player would of been Scottish or Irish.

Fast forward 30 years and it's become a billionaires play thing and a middle class game, generation z want football to be like a playstation or Xbox or whatever the games consoles are now, the media has played it's part with many shows dedicated to the premier league with every decision analysed hence the introduction of VAR, VAR itself gets scrutinized because it's the same people making the mistakes that are operating the technology, obviously none of the match going supporters matter anymore because money comes from the broadcasters.

The super league will happen because the premier league has to keep evolving to satisfy the owners greed and the younger generation, it will burst when football becomes like going to a music concert or the theatre, the loyal season ticket holder will have been long forgotten with huge clubs charging massive prices for a one of experience to tourists.

The premier league is helping this with PSR rules that only benefits the richest and bigger clubs, but those same clubs will walk away chasing more money, then the premier league realising they have no business will crawl back to the likes of Leicester in an effort to keep their "product" alive.

I had 2 season tickets at Leicester which my Dad and I shared, we used to go to games home and away together and if I'm honest I enjoyed football better in the late 80's/90's having a pint in the black prince on the A2 before the game with the Leicester players having a pre match meal in the room next door to the bar, and then standing with my Dad on the terrace at cold blow lane in January cheering Leicester on is nothing like what football is now, the end came for me when my Dad passed and I realised football had nothing in common with me anymore.

The absolute highlight was lifting the premier league trophy against Everton, little Leicester had beaten the odds and defied the establishment. The 1st time since 1884 and my generation had witnessed it.

Now I'm numb to it all, it's all about accountants and selling hotels back to yourself so you can hoard another player abroad. I watch Leicester on TV now and again but win or lose it doesn't upset my day anymore, when Vardy goes the light will go out.

There's talk on this forum about wishing Leicester drop down to the lower leagues because of the way the club is run, a sort of reset, I would probably go and watch Leicester again if they did, the Day's of me paying £70 to watch JJ and the like are gone.

Have a great day all.
I think you can start moaning about from way before the 90s
