I don't get the sense Mads is this type of player, but the timing of the injury, the lack of clarity about it, and his status as an asset all give off conspiratorial vibes.

When the type of injury is kept so secret, isn't there often another reason for the absence? (And I don't think he's going to be sold this month either)

I think the fact he went off at halftime at Newcastle suggests it was a groin injury.

Everything makes sense in that they can be difficult to diagnose so could take a few days or could take a few months.

On a wider note, I've noticed that managers have stopped being open about injuries.

RvN actually said so in a recent press conference. Essentially, he's injured and beyond that it's none of our business.

I guess it's a take on personal privacy.
