The hysterically annoying and totally unfounded, but traditional, January 2025 rumours thread.

Best player in the squad but hardly gets played.

He has no loyalty to us, he's only here on loan, so I don't blame him at all for not wanting to waste another 6 months of his career when he could go and play for most other teams in the bottom half, or at least not have to suffer in a toxic environment for the rest of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if West Ham went in for him having sent JWP back and Potter would have worked with him before.
Is he the best player in the squad? For a lot of the games he's played he's been as shit as nearly everyone else in reality.

I mean, he's still a gazillion times better than Ayew but then, so am I.

We aren't signing anyone though as this will be forced by the player/parent club.
Maybe Im being thick here but I don't follow the logic.

If Buonanotte goes, to wherever at whoever's behest, do we not have a loan place free? Could we not then sign someone else on loan? Admittedly, there's sod all time and I'm not sure the club can operate that quickly but, humour me, it's theoretically possible no?

Not necessarily, there are plenty of examples in life of owners who do not manage things and are badly advised.

I've got a mate who owns a property and rented it out. He let an agent run it for him. He was full of good intentions, didnt want the tennents to pay more than a reasonable rent, he didn't even want to make much of a profit. It's just that his dad had left him the house, in his will, and he just wanred somewhere to keep his money.

But the tennants were wankers, wrecked the house, stripped it bare, the house lost its value, and the agents, who were supposed to look after it, were basically shit and did nothing to either get new tennants or redress the loss.

Now everyone in the street is complaining because it looks like a ****ing bombsite, and they want it sorted.

Yeh, so my mate..... who I haven't made up,....is in a bit of quandary. He's got money and could do it up, get a new agent and new nice tennants? He doesn't know what to do and is asking me for advice.

What should I tell him?
To look at the contract terms with the agent, look carefully at what they agreed to do, and if they are in breach pursue them for damages.

Why sell Tom Cannon then?

If we are accepting relegation then we may as well have started planning for it next year too.

Can't wait for us to spend twice as much on someone not even half as good.
First thing that came to my mind. We are headless chickens.

Top was on his jet to Thailand within two hours of full time on Saturday. So you could have read into that where we stood.

What a club

Of course we could, but it relies on as being competently ran and actually having a target lined up.

There's zero chance we've done that so I highly doubt we will sign anyone.

First post wasn't worded the best to be fair.

We can also make loans from abroad but we haven't been able to do anything with that so it really does appear that the upper management are just accepting relegation already and waiving the white flag.

There is an argument that it could be the best thing to do long term but it doesn't send a great message to the fans or the squad - why should anyone be bothered to do their job for the rest of the season if the senior management can't do theirs?

Craig Dawson in a swap deal with Conor Coady. 😂😂😂😂

Even I could never have seen something so stupid happening.

Irrespective of anyone's view of the relative merits of each player, the one thing you cannot do is what your direct competitor wants.

If they wanted Coady for £10m you don't sell surely. Same with Ipswich. But happy to flog him to anyone else for half that.

Just basic common sense.

Someone mentioned Willy Boly, I assume as a joke, a while back but it's probably our best shout at the minute as a loan if Facu does go back.

Or well probably sign him for £10m and a 5yr contract at £80k per week.

Wolves fans don't want it to happen, they're saying the deal would benefit us more than them.

Looks more like an NBA-style salary dump than anything else.

Buonanatte being recalled would just put the cherry on top of the shit sundae that is our transfer window.

Shall we all just watch Netflix for the rest of this season and ignore the football?

well well well.... maybe we've not given up on staying in the Prem

if Coady is being swapped then we do kinda need another CB
