It's quite depressing how universal the football was invented in 1992 outlook is. I will never forget a woman on 606 last season claiming very confidently that 'Liverpool have only won one title'.

The only stat I care about now in relation to this is him matching or even better overtaking that little **** Michael Owen.

I'd love this.

But it's looking unlikely.

I can't see how he scores 17 more goals from here, probably playing half as many minutes as he has done for the last few seasons (when he's scored 15 in each previous season).

He'd need to continue playing for two more seasons, which will be a stretch for any player about to turn 36.

Given all the unlikely things he's already done, I wouldn't put it past him.

I love this man. He's the best player I've ever cheered on. I'll undoubtedly bore my grandkids telling stories about his exploits.

But he's done. I've laughed at people writing him off before but this season is different. He's nowhere near the required level any more.

In over 100 minutes last night he completed three passes. He failed to run at a level with very slow defenders. He was an old man pretending to be a young one.

A week today he turns 36. Very few strikers remain effective by that age. I truly hope that he speaks to the club and goes to America in the summer to finish there. I don't think I can take seeing him become an embarrassment.

Rarely I agree with you BN but spot on here. I saw it too and it’s almost sad. He has said himself he is humbled to have appeared so many times, and maybe he has misdirected his intentions, still trying to be the JV he obviously isn’t anymore. He needs to understand his legacy is forever cemented in Leicester City history but maybe time for another journey.
