Listened to it twice, it does not have the same singles-ability as the last album, there are some cracking songs in there but The Killers seem to have attempt to make a serious album sometimes it goes absolutely wrong IMO in 'Uncle Jonny', another bunch of rubbish is the intro and ending things trying to copy the Beatles. Another plunky piece is the opening track 'Sam's Town' one lyrics particularly is baffling. These are just small things though on what could be a transitional album to a great 3rd album.

Personally, I feel this album in my current listening is average to good, Hot Fuss was very nearly a classic, then it all started to go at track 7 'Glamourous Indie Rock n Roll'.

Next week is a week for albums Milburn, Jeremy Warmsley and The Blood Arm all set to release 'albums I want to listen before buying'

After two listens the only standout tracks for me are:

3. When You Were Young
6. Read My Mind
7. Uncle Jonny

The rest just don't do anything for me....... yet.

Its average..ok nothing else IMO.I don't hear anything radically different from their first album.

I like Track 10 can't be arsed to look what its called:)
I'm not a big fan of thiers anyway they come under the Alright Category, nothing too offensive but nothing that fantastic:102:

Big disappointment after their first album.
Hot Fuss was in my C.D. player for weeks whilst Sam's Town has been replaced already after only 3 listens.

For me I never expected anything, it was more of been intrigued by the sound and The Killers were interesting propsect.

Hot Fuss was half of a great album in my opinion.

I had the pleasure of listening to Razorlight's second album. What a turgid piece of work! Just compound their latest single with the lyrics 'All my life I wanted to sell record in Ammmerica!!'

Up All Night is a top album, I'm starting to like their 2nd album more and more - great stuff!

It has no beat or rythmn it's just nonsense. My brother got off one of his mates, 'lets give it a listen', I didnt turn off but my brother did. Then went off to slag the album off to his mate.

Its just boring, nothing offensive, just very very dull.

As for the Killers, I liked the first 4/5 songs off the first and then it went downhill, and then i saw them live at Rock City headlining the NME tour with support from the Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party and Futureheads, all of whom were superb whilst the Killers were crap.

I like "When You Were Young" though.
