Clear 10" vinyl?

They're ripping off poor John Cooper Clarke now.....

I'll download it for free tomorrow, then buy it on CD when it comes down to a reasonable price. Did the same thing with In Rainbows, the packages is a rip-off otherwise, especially if you don't have a record player.

the packages is a rip-off otherw*s*, especially if you don't have a record player.

They don't expect people to play the records, they expect people to buy them to show that they're real fans who will buy anything with the band's name on it.

The people who buy the records will leave them on their coffee table for a few weeks thinking it will impress their friends, then they'll end up in the loft until they sell them on eBay for a fraction of what they paid for them.

Call me old fashioned, but I actually play the records. And I suffer from packaging fetish. So if they come in a SE lavish gatefold sleeve or with a book, or 5.1 surround mix, I'm sold.

Only reason they would end up in the loft is if my dearly beloved puts them there.

eBay? What's that?

Having heard this album several times now I can say that I think this is a very good album. It is clearly a slow burner as most post OK Computer Radiohead albums are but, given time, it is an album well worth having.

Feels like a long EP to me - I would not be surprised if another Radiohead 'LP' comes out soon... Having said that, I like it a lot...

Same. I think there have been rumours that there is another related album coming very soon. Similar to what Tom Waits did with Mule Variations and Alice.

I've heard it a couple of times and i really like it so far, found it hit me much more instantly than Amnesiac and In Rainbows did, even though I ended up really liking those albums.

Been through it four or five times now and like it better for each listen. Will probably have worn it out by the time I get the lavish "newspaper" album delivered though. But at least I can leave that on the table for a couple of weeks to impress my friends :icon_wink

Not a fan so far.

Having said that, The Bends has been the only fairly instant like for me.

I'm sure it will come good for me soon.

Its good to see Radiohead still going though - a few years ago, I sensed they were about to pack up.

Using nothing more than a coat-hanger, I can sense the proximity of underground streams and the location of Junior Lewis (when he is hiding in a bedroom).

This is out of my remit but I am prepared to hazard a guess that this album is yet more self-absorbed, over-produced tosh of the first order.

I shall download it though so that I can be the first of my friends to dislike it.

lo-fi raw angst & bitter dejection > self-absorbed, over-produced tosh

Mmmmmmm, lo-fi raw angst & bitter dejection is good stuff too

Are you trying to make me drool? :icon_razz

Oh by Christ!

After the first listen I'm beginning to regret stealing it for free. I remember when 60's rock went all prog before nose-diving into total shite free-form jazz numbers...this is the Indie equivalent.

In years to come when people look up 'reasons why Radiohead are shit' on some search engine they'll be greeted with an image of this album and a child being violently sick.

What a stinking pile of bollocks.

Why listen to in the first place if you don't like the band and are going into the album with an attitude of "this album is yet more self-absorbed, over-produced tosh of the first order"?
