If Kelly is to stay on then I think it is important that he recieves the help and assistance of an experienced backroom team. Most inexperienced managers benefit from having somebody at the side of them who has been there, seen it and done it.

Ray Graydon seemed to fit that bill last season, whilst Keith Birkenshaw at Watford and Ray Mathias at Macclesfield have both provided such experience with Aidy Boothroyd and Paul Ince respectively.

Whether MM would insist in bringing in one of his own men or whether Kelly could select his own, however IMO there are a few people who could come in and help RK on a short term contract with the proviso that it would be reviewed in the summer.

Possible candidates :

Colin Todd (Plenty of experience and has been a No 2 in the past, just been sacked as manager of Bradford)

Ray Graydon (Out of work, may consider another short term appointment)

John Gorman (Wealth of experience and would be a good way of easing himself back into the game)

Ray Wilkins (Did a great job at Millwall as Dennis Eyes Assistant)

Problem is that if Milan brought someone in it would immediately be seized on as being Kelly's replacement - and we've had enough off-field disruption already

Would do more harm than good

Kelly loses on saturday and he's OUT, in my opinion

If he wins, then everything is fine and dandy and we can safely wait until the summer

And the draw, Homer?

And the draw, Homer?

Difficult to say really

I'm expecting a near full house on Saturday, and the weight of expectation will be immense and I suspect the atmosphere will be unlike any we have seen for some time

Will a draw be good enough ???

Can't agree, I'm afraid. Either Kelly is good enough or he isn't.

I think we have a brilliant situation now. He will be under intense pressure and there will be no scope for dismal performances or the even more ridiculous statements that it's ok because we have a team of 5 year olds etc. We can't lose - if he bucks, up we win; if he fails, then MM will bring in somebody else who can get results - and we win again.

He'll get more than one game. MM will just look a complete cock, after all he's said, if he just sacks him after one loss.

He won't care about that

He wants to be adored by the fans and seen as the man to deliver precisely what they want - so if we lose on saturday, and the fans boo Kelly, Kelly will be out the door

I actually think that we'll murder Cov on Saturday, so it will all be academic anyway

Its too much hard work in sacking kelly and then getting a new manager inn, this will affect the players and the players are starting to gel and pick up points now so there is no point in sacking kelly espically with the position were in, it will only make matters worst.

I have some sympathy with your second paragraph, but I think it may well happen anyway.

If he does get rid of RK (either before or during the summer) we need to hope he makes a better choice of manager than he has most times in te past!

I expect us to win on Saturday, carried forward on a wave of euphoria and excitement.

They might boo the team, but as a whole, and especially away from home ( and MM's been to most away games recently ) the fans are behind Kelly IMO.

All this second guessing about the manager! Things have now changed. We are no longer ruled by committee but by one man. We do not know him yet. We don't know his moods or what his numerous connections within the game have said to him. Relax and just see what happens. We're not in a position to do anything but MM is!!

Sorry to laugh, but that's been the sensible postion for the last three months ....... and of course we all did, didn't we!

Daily Mail:
"If Rob wants a guarantee, I can tell him this," added, Mandaric. "He knows that if he wins the game on Saturday, he will be in charge until next Saturday.

Just about sums it up
