yes its a bogus penalty, how can you be over a cap that didn't exist, it was proof of collusion and they should have taken the penalty to court, only team that complained were the Giants, there was something done somewhere behind the scenes to get the Cowboys and Skins to both agree to drop it.

they were probably told how much money the NFL could be sued for by the NFLPA if they didn't

Ah that makes a bit more sense then. I knew they were under some weird ruling even though it was a "cap free" season, but didn't realise what had happened since.

it was "cap free" so Skins resigned a load of contracts putting most of the money to that season to help future season, as did Cowboys, Giants owners cried like bitches about it and this bullshit penalty was levied...

it allowed them to put together the trade package to get the pick for RGIII, problem is their secondary is barely above CFL level now

And thanks to the package they put together for RG3, they're less able to strengthen in other areas where they need to. It's a tough balancing act isn't it? Did Atlanta go to far with the amount they gave away to get Julio Jones?

When you think about it, the Colts really did hit it lucky with having the season they did while Manning was injured. Whilst a whole season was "wasted", they managed to get the best QB to come out of college for a good few years and didn't have to give anything up to get him.

On the plus side, it makes picking my fantasy team easier each week, Redskins opponent generally equates to my QB :icon_bigg

skins had to make that trade at the time though in hindsight they could have stayed at 6 (i think) and took Wilson but at the time it was a no brainer

I agree with you there. Many people thought Wilson might be too small for the NFL, despite his impressive season at Wisconsin. He didn't go til a lot later though, 3rd round I think. I'm sure Tannehill went before him and that just shows how hard it is to predict.

College stuff for a sec - 42-41 down with an extra point to come, were Michigan right to go for the 2 point conversion and the win?

I think they probably were, in that their season isn't defined by the loss, but if they beat Ohio State it makes a huge difference to them and their fiercest rivals. One play from that close for the win, I think Hoke made the right choice. It's not like they were stopping the Buckeyes when they were on defence either.

I've just seen the ending to the Auburn vs Alabama game. Holy feck, what a finish. Ohio State will be even more happy with their win now.

Hard game to watch in Philadelphia. I'm sure it would be called off if it wasn't on Sky.....

:icon_lol:

By the way Skitzo, could things get any worse for Washington?

I was in a good mood having watched the Leicester Tigers game, they love to ruin it, the Special Teams co-ordinator should be fired at HT and the players need cutting, every one of them

After my post, when they scored just before HT, I thought well at least they've got on the board, only for them to concede straight away again. Incredible stuff.
