The 70s were insane. There was even a magazine in the US (Star) that gave advice on how to become a groupie & shag rock stars. Marketed to girls aged 14+ The girl Bowie went with was one of those (Lori Mattix)
However...she's told the story 3 times to different people & it's a different story every time. It's also contradicted by her friends at the time who claim she wasn't even there. So who knows? She definitely did shag Jimmy Page for 2 years though.
She also claims to have had Mick Jagger. Although by the time that either did or didn't happen she wouldn't have been underage anyway. Oh...she claims to have had sex with Bowie's Mrs later on as well !

Nice feature on the news on Denis and as well as the obvious back heel goal against his beloved United they showed this goal against a certain Midlands Club wearing an unusual strip that Season 😉

Shame. Not a surprise though considering how bad her health has been the last few years. Then again it's a miracle she got past 40 really.
Weirdly I saw her 3 times in 3 different cities in 3 different countries ( Paris, New York & Warwick )
I did a press release for her Blazing Away live album which ended up blagging me a front row seat for the gig in New York at St Anne's cathedral in Brooklyn. One of the best job related perks ever.
Got to meet her after. She was slightly off her tits but very friendly & laughed a lot.

First encounter was seeing Girl on a Motorcycle on late night telly when I was a kid. Didn't understand any of it but didn't care as the visuals were appealing in themselves.

She lived for a number of years in our small town, Maynooth, in Ireland. There is a fine Palladian mansion, Carton House on the edge of town, and she rented a small cottage on the large demesne surrounding it. It is called Shell Cottage, as the inside walls are completely covered in shells. I only saw her a couple of times, but gather she could be frequently see around town, and was friendly and unpretentious.

That is sad. He always came across to me as someone who actually thought about what he wanted to write, rather than writing about what might result in more clicks (to use a more modern day term).
