The root of our defensive problems?

The thing is though, reading the thoughts of Reading fans on another forum, he was never actually a good player for them in the first place. The general opinion is that he was wildly overhyped in the media because he is a "television player" i.e. he looks good on the telly, because he makes blocks and tackles and you don't notice his poor positioning/marking/how many headers he misses so much on the tv.

They're all waxing lyrical about Kasper Gorkss and how much better he is than Mills, not only as an individual but as a leader and getting the best out of his defensive partner Alex Pearce as well.

Where they saying that before he left though? Also, wasn't he voted fans player of the year last year?

Yes (there was a thread linked to their forum in the speculation thread just before we signed him of them laughing at us and saying he wasn't that good) and no, he has never been voted their player of the season, Shane Long was last season.

In fact, most Reading fans outright hated him when he was there for sticking his v's up at his own fans and moaning to the press about Brendan Rodgers, which many believe helped lead to his sacking.
