Bought a Wii for the kids for Christmas yesterday.
Got it from Argos despite them being in short supply.
Piece of advice for anyone planning to buy from Argos before the end of the month.
They are doing the 'Spend £50 get a voucher for £5, spend £100 get a voucher for £10' offer. However, if you buy gift vouchers first you get the extra voucher which you can then use to buy the item you want. And then get another voucher back from that purchase.
I bought a £100 gift voucher Wednesday and received £10 extra. Bought a £50 one yesterday with £5 extra.
Then went across town to pick up my reserved WII with £165 total vouchers. Paid the £14.97 extra and received a £10 voucher back. Then used that to buy Zelda Twilight Princess (min £30 elsewhere) for £9.98 extra.
In summary, 210 quids worth for £175.

I thought Argos stopped giving the extra vouchers when people bought gift vouchers because people were taking the piss. There was a case of people buying £100 in gift vouchers, getting the extra £10, then using the gift vouchers to buy more gift vouchers, getting an extra £10 again etc...

They have stopped people buying vouchers with vouchers only. You can still buy vouchers with cash, credit card etc and get the bonus, then use both to buy something else (not more vouchers). Check terms and conditions on their website.
