I managed to have one laugh at Savage's expense on another occasion, though.

He had committed a foul and when I was dealing with him, I said that I was in charge of the game, not him.

He said: "Yeah, but I've got more money than you." After a pause, he added: "Loads more money."

Towards the end of the match Savage asked how much time was left to play. I said: "Sorry, Robbie, I can only afford a cheap watch and it's broken."

Anyone here think that's that funny? Cos I feckin don't.

Mr.Poll, you were shown up there.

Melts have you ever met savage and spent time with him?

I spent a whole night in his company at jimmy deans and he was a great laugh, paid for drinks and gave me free drink vouchers all night, not once was a prick or a show off.

Believing what you read in the media will always give you a false impression.

No, I haven't

In itself a sign of somebody showing off and splashing their cash about. But I wasn't there and it's just an opinion. Glad he can buy your positive judgement even if he can't earn it.

Spot on, and that's why I form my opinions from 100% credible sources

He certainly was not splashing his cash about, i was ahving a very long and very good chat with him about city, and every time he had a drink he would offer me one. He went in there a lot as he ran a local football team for kids in the area.

Was a nice bloke and wasnt bothered about having a talk about the team. Was not rude once and never made me feel anything but welcome and comfortable to talk to him.

Well you certainly have more first hand experience than me, so this time I have to bow to your superior knowledge.

I don't share your opinion still, but I can't argue it really.

thats fair enough, everyones entitled to a personal opinion.

So funny how you lot turn your back on him now he isnt here. I bet you all ****ing loved him when he was getting the opposition players sent off etc, fickleness of the highest order.

I loved robby when he was here, he gave everything for us, i certainly wont start bad mouthing him now just because he isnt ours. He was a massive part of our ONLY recent success.

Shame on you

I wasn't bad mouthing him. But if he thinks it's ok to go to the toilet and then leave without washing his hands I'll say I think it's unhygienic and disgusting.

And I would never bad mouth him for what he did when he was here, he was energy personified and you couldn't fault his commitment to the cause.
However, having heard him in interviews make snide and nasty comments about his time here after he had joined Brum I certainly wouldn't give the tosser the time of day now.
After the support he got from the club and the fans when it seemed like the rest of the country hated his guts, to say I was disappointed with some of the things he said regards us is an understatement. I won't forgive him for that, and I think you can see that when you see the reaction someone like Muzzy gets when he comes to the WS for a game compared to what he gets.
Maybe if he showed a bit more pride in what he was a part of here like Muzzy, then he wouldn't be vilified like he was when he returned for the first time. Of course, helping to get Elliott sent off by demanding the ref show him a red card didn't help matters( whether Elliott deserved it isn't the point, you'd think he wouldv'e shown a modicom of commonsense and stayed out of it, but then it is Pelicanhead we are talking about here, I don't think commonsense is a part of him!)

Once Martin O'Neil left, I think Savage became one of those players that didn't put themselves out there and be counted. I remember in the final season at Filbert Street that he was just as usless as Wise in midfield and was not sorry to see him go. We got £2.5m for him. Hardly a massive amount...

Well... at least we know never to shake a footballer's hand now.

Although I imagine most of our supporters never face that dilemma.

i had a leak in the hospitality john + stood next to an ex keeper...world class but didn't wash his hands . then goes out and starts shaking hands with his guests, they might of well just shook his knob

my tickets for the tranmere wembley game came from savage. my old man new him when he owned checkline taxis in glenfield. me dad still has a porno he borrowed from good old robbie.

That might have something to do with the fact he KNEW we were going down after the 5-0 Bolton defeat-first game of the season.(So he said in one of his interviews)

Obviously most of us would've had ominous thoughts after that debacle but you would expect players after the first game to still get stuck in and not give up on the season ahead as if it was already over.

you ask Bluepostie about Savage, he went out drinking with him on a regular basis when he lived in Glenfield, very near to DD as a matter of fact.

He is not as you describe him

he lived round the corner from me-we came back once and he was having his car towed as he had lost his keys and thought someone might have stole them and would nick his car :icon_lol:
