i posted this on a thread called ffs but thought i start a new thread :056:

now i had a thought last night ,so thought i would run it past you all ,so here gose...................

the transfer window opens nothing from city at all ,other clubs are moving for players (sky sports news ) ,so why no news from the walkers ???,cl has said there mite not be anyboby in till after the spurs game ,
now with the place we are in you would have thought he would have been moving real fast to sort this out

on bbc lieicester he said 2 players he was looking at both got injored last weekend

so no new faces at the min

now the bit that came to me last night ,have the board told cl that the cup game is his last game and thats why they hav'nt said anything (the board ) and cl hasnt moved on any new players

what do you think

The teams still in the FA cup will want their best players in case they get a through to a cash rich glamour tie. As about half the teams will be out by Monday so a lot more players will suddenly become available and/or their price will drop I would guess.

If CL was going to be sacked it would have been done by now.As long as the player(s) are in by this time next week then I see no problem.

Not a chance.

I am sure that the board has already written off the Spurs game and will have factored the cup exit into their apparant decision to retain CL, for the time being.

IMO the reason why we haven't yet signed players is because it's difficult to identify available players who CL thinks would make a difference and who would be willing to come here.

In truth, the main problem isn't that we need new players to avoid relegation; its that we need a manager who can get better performances out of the existing personnel. That is not to say that they are a particularly string squad.

As for Levein, he will only be gone if and when the pressure becomes impossible for him or the board to withstand.

yes that could be it but we wont know till someone says somthing ,there have been peeps calling for cl out for a while now myself included ,what we need is for the club to make a statement and set the record straight once and for all to stop all the rumers

Dont agree, he has had 14 months to be looking for the right players and the last 3 months drawing up a list and watching players ready for this transfer window.

As for Levein's position, I may be wrong and I may be the only one who has took TD's comments this way, but Craig has given a presentation to the board of how he believes the club can improve and get itself out of the mess, now that was presented to the board on tuesday, now as any other business would deal with such a performance review, I would imagine that the board will have asked some pretty searching questions of Levein and his presentation but without then discussing the implications and possible alternatives, they would be unable to make an informed decision. IMO there will have / or will be subsequent meeting(s) for the board to make its final decision as to the way forward. I also believe that maybe the Spurs game will be used as an indicator by the board to the public feeling toward Levein.

Please bear in mind that this is the most attractive fixture we have had since relegation, and bearing in mind it is round three of the cup and the current position of Spurs in the league, it should have been a bumper crowd, but if there are wide open spaces within the ground it will be a massive embarrasment to the club, especially on national television, also on the back of three straight league defeats they may well be "testing the water" as to the reaction to Levein before finalising a decision, the last scenario they want is for the fans to turn on the board, especially a half empty Walkers and in front of the nation.

Its not that complex PFKA.They have have gave him a few quid to spend,he's got til beginning of March or something, sooner if we don't win any games, then the situation will be readdressed(its on going). They aren't going to use a game against the team 4th in the Prem to gauge reaction. If they were chucking him out then he would be gone by now.....I could be wrong but I doubt it

there might be wide open spaces in the ground because of its Kick off time and its on the Box.

But Scottish teams aren't in the F.A Cup. :023:

Seriously though, I agree.

Why HF, I have not yet seen one quote attributed to anybody from the board to say that Levein has been given money, or any timescale, yesterdays interview with TD stated that Levein had now submitted his presentation, no business would sign onto such a plan without serious discussion and debate, it could be that rather than make a hasty decision either way, they are going to make an informed decision based on the presentation and the other available options, sacking a manager or keeping a non performing manager is not a decision that can be taken lightly, and given that the cup game provides a little breathing space, it does provide the board with a time to make an informed decision.

I think all of the above is spot on HF.

CL should be looking forward to the Spurs game, because whereas in the past we would be really up for this one and hoping to secure at least a draw, these days there are no such expectations.

Consequently, even if we take a hammering - I don't think we will be hammered - then CL won't take any stick.

The Wednesday match is much more critical for him and might be the catalyst that rids us of him. In a sense, I think I am being a bit unkind, because I am sure that he is giving of his best....but he just isn't right for Leicester City.

I also think that the gaps in the crowd will be because the FA Cup is now a devalued competition and it takes a lot more hype from the BBC in particular to sell the 3rd round as the magic occasion it once was.

Highland, I was saying that they would guage the result against Spurs as a bench mark for CL, as I agree it would be massively unfair, however I expect a fairly hostile reception towards CL on sunday and that is what the board will guage regardless of the result.

i think your right on this ,being as its live on the bbc1 too it will have a masive effect on the club if the out chants starts ,it could be the last nail in cl coffin imo

No, I think the board are fully behind him and have given him the green light on the coffers he can use.
