I dont think the board or CL have wrote off the spurs game as a total loss. i think the board like CL believes we have underperformed and when we have performed and should have won, but luck has been against us

So I would suggest that the board and CL know that if we win on sunday, it would earn city a concidrable amount of money, which CL could then spend on a player. A long shoot, but it would be better to buy a quality player than another duffer.

i total agree with you there one player instaed of a few

I think we should go out and attack spurs on sunday, they will be expecting us to try and hold out for a draw. Also I think the fans would warm to the team more if we went out and really attacked them and hopefully this could create a better atmosphere!

We will probably end up playing 4 - 5 - 1 but i really think we should have a go at them! :icon_redf

Well thats going to do a team lacking in confidence a lot of good isn't it 'a fairly hostile reception'...fecking brilliant, really going to help us that is.:102: :102:

Highland I wasnt suggesting that we should make it hostile, and I for one certainly wouldnt condone such behaviour IMO we need to back the players and manager 100%, but we are talking about the opportunity for some of our "supporters" to make their point in front of the nation.

:038: definately weve nothing to lose like you say if we show willing the fans just might lay off them a bit

all we want to see as fans is ALL the players showing effort and commitment etc if they do that then half the battle is won i would rather us lost 3-0 and given everything rather than a 1-0 defeat pussy-footing around without a care in the world

Its not that complex PFKA.They have have gave him a few quid to spend,he's got til beginning of March or something, sooner if we don't win any games, then the situation will be readdressed(its on going). They aren't going to use a game against the team 4th in the Prem to gauge reaction. If they were chucking him out then he would be gone by now.....I could be wrong but I doubt it

there might be wide open spaces in the ground because of its Kick off time and its on the Box.

Sorry but thats dumb if the board do that they need ousting, I already said numerous times the worst time to switch managers is outside of a transfer windows (spring/autumn) sacking him in march would leave the new manager no transfer window and too little time to save us.

If they are even considering he could go in march they should sack him now.

So to summarise they need to either :-
(a) Make a statement publicly backing craig explaining he has funds and he will be here until the end of the season (like birmingham have done with bruce)
(b) Sack him now or after spurs game next week, and make a move for a replacement.

Doesnt matter just a cup game, plus I think keeping the manager will have a more lasting negative affect on a team then the crowd getting on their back in the short term. Plus I would guess they be on the manager's back and not the team so if he has lost the dressing room it might make players feel better knowing the fans agree with them.

I can never work out why people get so jumpy about the lack of rumours surrounding possible transfers. It's the actual transfers I'm more worried about. Does it really matter when we sign players - this week or next? No, not really. MON was the master of last minute transfers, and nobody minded that. Whilst the likes of Redknap and W*rnock are out there shooting their mouths off, being linked with most players in the world, CL and the club have already stated that, due to previous problems with deals being scuppered by news leaking out, they try and keep things quiet until the ink is dry on the contract.

So here's what I think the likely situation is:

We're in for a player or two, but we're not offering very good money, obviously. The selling club is thinking, hang on, let's not rush into this as someone might come in with more money. So they're in no hurry. Meanwhile, as has been reported, two transfer targets were injured at the weekend, and who knows how many more have either failed to agree terms or flat refused even to talk to us.

I think it would be akin to the swimming swan - nothing much going on above the surface, all manner of buggery feck going on behind the scenes.

I can't believe for one second that CL is sitting on his hands at this point: he knows his job is on the line and he's presumably doing his damnedest to sort something out.

Great post Desert, I have indeed been one of many posters who have been "concerned" by the current situation down at the Walker's, but my concerns have been bought about not by not eing told how much money Craig has to spend nor by the fact that we havent been told how many games he has to save his job.

The issue I have is that there was a board meeting on tuesday, that every City fan was aware of and bearing in mind that pressure had been building up and the fact TD had been asked directly about the future of Levein, I think that a simple statement backing the manager should have been given, this would have killed stone dead all the speculation and rumour. But anyway hopefully the impending signing of Matt Fryatt will help put an end to the uncertainty and we can all get back to supporting the team and manager.

I just hope I dont hear this statement come feb.

"We as a club are as dissapointed as the fans but we have had terrible luck during games which is why we not winning, all our transfer targets couldnt arrive due to injuries we are unlucky and sorry"
