Is it really that sad?
An outdated & outmoded service that doesn't really offer anything to the way people live in the modern world and is unable to offer the all important 'value' to the consumer.
I'm not sure that I find it sad, it's just a fact of the world we now live in. You can't maintain an occupation purely for sentimentalities sake and it isn't really something you can apportion blame to.
I find the death of most of our old traditions sad. Albeit practical or not.
Like the big teams in football the supermarkets hold all the cards, and i'm just sticking up for the underdogs the small corner shops and local family businesses. It would be nice to see that the younger generation of today could still have the opportunities to build something for themselves in life, but i fear the power of the mighty destroys there hopes.
