at a guess it would mean less if any compensation, if Newell left now then it mean nothing as we haven't approached Luton to talk to him and would appear out of the blue in a way, whereas if cottrill quit now it would be a bit suspect as we have made our interest clear.

i think after recent allegations newell has made, he would be more likely to be allowed to leave than a few months back, but like what was said nearer the top of the page, it has to be newell or cotteril.
