Things look bleak for the MdV, Sylla and Joe Hamill as far as any hopes of resurrecting their lcfc career goes. News now that they haven't gone to the 'training camp' at Mottram Hall and will therefore not be playing at either Macclesfield or Stockport.

Wesolowski has been included in the party although he won't be playing. The party consists of the 22 who played at Boston plus Louis Dodds.

I shall retract my optimistic (on MDV's part) comments of yesterday and in earlier threads!

I definetly think that RK is making a mistake by excluding Sylla and MDV. They are two players who i feel could make a significant change in City's performances, even if it is from the bench after 75 minutes.

We do have a solid line up of strikers but now that MDV is on his way out, who can replace him? :102:

I had no idea that Mottram Hall was in Mottram Park depsite it only being 2 miles from home - you learn something everyday.
More imortantly, for the first time in 40+ years, I have the chance tomorrow to WALK to see my team in action! Even the prospect of seeing Douglas, Tiatto Elvis & Williams is made less miserable by not having to invest almost 4 hours in travelling...this could beat the real season hands down!

Its not that far for you to the Stockport game either is it :102:

Willow, your site vitalfootball.co.uk looks good, I noticed you are the only journalist on the site. I was wondering if you would like any help writing your articles? I am currently writing for foxes-mad.co.uk (Joe Harris) but am looking for more work. Thanks dude:icon_wink

Too right - and I WILL be able to WALK to the Stockport game too, from my place of work (it's 30-40 mins from home by car, so good guess Willow).
Now, aren't I the lucky one?!

Do squad numbers still have the same relevance today as they used to?

No. It used to be something like this :-

GK - #1
LB - #3
RB - #2
CB - #5
CB - #6
LM - #11
RM - #7
CM - #4
CM - #8
FW - #9
FW - #10.

The England team still uses this to determine which player gets which number.

If we did this with the current LCFC team, the squad would be.

-----------------Douglas--------------

Maybury---McCarthy---Hughes---Kisnorbo

Hume-----Kenton-----Williams-----Tiatto

----------De Vries----Johnson

So to answer your question, Melts, squad numbers IMO do not have the same relevance as they used to. :icon_wink

I'm not sure that it is actually called Mottram Park - but the hotel is surrounded by acres and acres of parkland - it may be just be me who tagged if Mottram Park.

Looking on the net, there seems to be quite a few Mottram Parks up in the north-west. I hope I haven't confused you. Mottram Hall, where the pleyers are, is between Prestbury and Wilmslow - just off to the north of the A538.

Will we be seeing you in The Flowerpot?

i would of thought number 6 would be in midfield and number 4 in defence :102:

But Bobby Moore was normally 6.
