El Dude Brother.
IMO they have had their chances and should be dropped in favour of Smith (after suspension) and Hughes (central Midfield).

What does everbody else think?
 
I think we should play 6 across the middle, Smith and Hughes in front of Tiatto, Joey, Williams and Sylla. Then stick 3 at the back and leave Hume up front on his own.

Basically this formation would be 3-2-2-2-1 which in my opinion spells goals goals goals.

Obviously I'd prefer a 4-3-1-2 formation but Connolly is no longer here so from now on I'll pitch for a 3-2-2-2-1 formation.

Agreed and if Sylla doesn't improve after 5 matches in that formation then I'd give Hammond a run of matches there.Try Tiatto at left back or in Joey's place against Cardiff in the Cup.

Either that Joe or play a totally complicated formation....that not even the players themselves understand.

I think he is a genuine winger who played well pre season and early in to the season. Rightly so he seems frustrated currently with us playing long balls to a big man. It doesn't play to his strengths as Sylla is quick, can beat a man and can deliver crosses. Basically he needs the ball on the deck as do Hume, Hammond and MDV IMO.

Do you really rate Tiatto enough to squeeze him in at LB? Can you trust him not to stray central? can you trust him to not give away posession with his ridiculous circular runs? can you trust him to stay on the field?

Maybe if the opposition didn't turn up. That's only a maybe, by the way.

Not sure but I think it warrants a try.I don't think he's as bad as people are making out but I definately wouldn't play him on the left wing.

He isn't the worst player at the club. For me, his faults outweigh what he offers though. He is definatley no left winger and I don't see why we need him at left back when we have Sheehan who is solid in defence, good going forward, delivers excellent corners and can take a mean free kick. Also we have Kisnorbo and Gilbert in that position. Might be worth a try but I would be reluctant to try many more people there.
 
Levein likes him though reckons he's a Leader etc so I envisage him playing along with Maybury.I can't see Stearman playing right back when Maybury is available.

Neither can I, although on form stearman should play....
 
I'd like to see Stearman given a game at Centre Half against Cardiff in the Cup

In that case I'll go for the "headless chicken" 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1

That doesn't, of course, include the keeper. He will stay roughly in his own half until the last ten minutes, when I'd push him up front to partner the kitchen sink.

I'd play 3-5-2 of course. I think our personnel would quite suit it - epsecially as we have a glut of central midfielders.

Problems are:
Nowhere for Ryan Smith to play!
CL won't consider 3-5-2.

Most likely to happen is that we continue to play 4-4-2 with one of our widemen tucked in and have Smith or Sylla playing as a winger.
