The newly-reformed reserve side is playing at Hinckley to preserve the playing surface at the Walkers. What do you think playing Rugby on it would do?

Wasn't in bad nick after the Llanelli game.

I suspect that the reasoning is more that LCFC want to save money by not having to go through the massive costs of a matchday.

Which things being crap are you referring to?

I am being relatively light hearted.

There is an issue about the pitch....but generally ground maintenance seems to cope with these things better these days.

At the end of the day, I think the principle of ground share is probably right....but in practical terms it's not going to happen.

What I think is irrelevant is petty antagonism between the supporters of each of the Leicester clubs.

I think it's more antagonism between fans of different sports. I find Rugby boring and every Tigers fan I have bumped into walking near the ground has been rude and arrogant. To think of them defiling my seat is horrendous :icon_wink

Right.

But I suppose it matters how hard you bumped into them - where they arrogant on the floor or standing?

we have got to expand it now so the sheep cant take the piss. cant believe that.

What so we can have even more empty seats on view. We need to get back into the premiership and then sell out week in week out for that to become a realistic proposition.

The Walkers is new but not "state of the art" by a long way
Of course it is. HD screens, replays, all singing and dancing scoreboard, the best PA and sound system to offer, under ground car parking, multitude of high class resaurants, excellent rail link, digital user controlled ticket turnstyles..........

Bloody hell BG, what more do you want?

Spot on RF. Although City is my priority I do support Tigers too (having played both Footie and rugby for my school I enjoy both). Ground sharing could have provided more funds for the team, but strong feelings on both sides meant it was not practical.

As a Leicester lad, I am pleased when any of the teams do well in the City and County, from the cricket to the basketball.

which two would they be then.

Precisely.

The Walkers is relatively new; definitely cheapo, lego land/ mechano set and not remotely state of the art.

The Tigers ground is a much improved exceptionally capacious ground in the world of English club rugby......but in no sense is it 'state of the art' nor will ever be so.

In an ideal world - in my opinion - there would have been one top class City of Leicester stadium which could have been state of the art and a capacity to give Leicester City a stadium as good as if not better than anything else in the east and west midlands.

This was a pipe dream because of the parochialism and practical issues....and also, I understand issues related to primacy of tenure - although these have obviously been overcome elsewhere.

What would make our stadium 'State of the Art'? - escalators, bar codes on the pies, seat back TVs for replays, what?

I was thinking the same thing, it's meaningless.

I'm sure lako just meant a modern stadium, which was a perfectly reasonable thing to say.

thats exactly what i meant, for me its a fantastic stadium for going and watching the footy. it also had very high quality functions side of things with many different lounges and bars.

Its just a modern looking shell with seats around a bit of grass
