And I'm certain you need that kind of option in this division. Its not something that managers like to admit but almost all of them will go for route one when faced with that kind of situation or if they need a goal with a few minutes remaining. Unfortunately, Howard is almost time expired and we need another forward to provide that option.

nah I think you'd be mad to give Schlupp a chance - what has he ever done for us....

To be fair he's never normally that effective. He has obviouslt benefitted from missing out because he looked sharper and more alert/confident than ever before. Throwing him into the starting 11 in the next few fixtures would be a mistake - similar to what Sven did.

He was exactly like that when given a run of games at Brentford in League One (10 games of which 6 starts & 6 goals) according to 2 Brentford fans I spoke to.

Brum defence struggled to cope with him last night, must be worth testing some other clubs back 4 for an extended period

It's like a large structure made from bales of hats.

When he scored a hatrick earlier in the season he immediately started the next game against Reading and was very disappointing, shrugged off the ball, over confident and ineffective.

So think it was a bad decision to stick with a striker who scored a hattrick in his previous game, especially when our first choice front two were hardly banging them in? Bizarre. Obviously it didn't work out for him in that game, but he could have continued his scoring form and bagged a couple of goals. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
