Great win today against northants, but unfortunately too little too late. Only our 3rd win of the season in all comps :icon_eek:

Funny how there is talk of Broad being picked for the ODIs after hardly playing in the C&G for Leics. Can't understand why we kept resting Asif for the C&G - he's finished for us after next week! It would help England if he was knackered!

Anyway on the captaincy I found this quote from the official site quite interesting "Vice-captain Robinson, leading the side in the absence of Dinesh Mongia".

Surely leading the side in the absence of Jeremy Snape? And isn't Mongia the official vice-cap anyway?

I went yesterday, saw the last 2 hours and Mongia and Ackerman get their 50's. Decent game

It looks like a decent win today but thats Northants 7th defeat in 7! They are probably the worse one day side in the country. Broad, Asif and Mongia were all rested because it is a pointless game really. We can't qualify for the final so we may as well play the youngsters.

Its good to see Sheriyar and Cummins bowling well. I'm starting to think that we don't really need to replace Asif. We could just save our money and put it aside for strengthening the squad next season.

The way they said it on RL this morning was Robinson was acting vice captain in the absence of Mongia.

I think I'm being oversuspicious but Leics are so poor at communication that I was half-thinking Snape had been moved aside since he contributed nothing to the team's performance at all, and that the 'injury' was a typical smokescreen.

Similar to the England situation, despite Trescothick being Vice Captain to Vaughan, the selectors went for Flintoff to skipper the side and leave Tres as his understudy.
