We can confirm a deal has been agreed between Leicester City and Sheffield United for the permanent transfer of striker Tom Cannon, subject to league approval.

The 22-year-old joined us from Everton in September 2023 and made 16 appearances in all competitions last term, as we made an immediate return to the Premier League.

He spent the first half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan with Stoke City, and will now return to the Sky Bet Championship as a Sheffield United player.

Tom leaves King Power Stadium with our thanks and best wishes for his future career.

Well, who knows. It seems completely ****ing brainless to me considering what I've seen of him and what he has done this season but we won't know how right or wrong this decision is until the end of the season.

Time will tell I guess.

But personally not fussed one bit. I don't see a PL level striker in him and I'm not convinced he's up to much at Championship level either.

Dyche, Maresca, Cooper and RvN have all had the chance to use him and all haven't been convinced.

One of those I'll quickly forget was ever a City player.

Bang average at best, and a total waste of ****ing good money

We can now invest in someone equally as shit

Many would have said the same about Delap based on last season at Hull.

Everyone said it the season before about Rodgers from Middlesbrough.

Cannon could easily be the next one to step up without apparently not taking the Championship by storm as he certainly has the pace, strength and playing style exactly needed by teams that play with the solo striker.

With Vardy and Daka both unable to find the net, he's probably worth the chance here already.

I think we'll come to regret this, and probably quite soon.

He's bang average. He will drift into the footballing world and be largely forgotten.

He's better than Daka.
He's better than Edouard.
He's better than nobody.

Therefore he'd be our second best striker.
I disagree. I do not rate any of the above but he'd be an absolute passenger in the premier league.
At least with Daka we know something might come off just because he has bags of pace.

You genuinely think Daka or Edouard are better? Having watched them? With your actual eyes?

**** me pink.

We are going to be relegated. I don’t see even a point in the next 10 games. What championship striker should we buy in this window to prepare for next season and how much will they cost?

Yep. Because that's how bang average I think Tom Cannon is. You only need to watch him in the championship to realise that.

We could just go to an athletics club if running is the key skill we desire.

11 goals so far is better than average. It’s 4 shy of the top scorer in the league.
