Well he's obviously not the cleverly

or it could be that Malky McKay works there and that Ferguson recommended him for the job.
Scottish mafia.

or it could just be that Ferguson wants to extend the player's experience - and the best way to do that is to send him to a different club.

At least people have noted that he is actually a Man U player and we don't seem to have the usual posts accusing the player of a being traitor to the cause.

Or it could be that he was ok in league one but in actual fact is no better than what we already have so would be a waste of time!!

could do a job at right back i reckon but we would be unlikely to not play a right back we've just signed in neilson, so all in all not a major disappointment. altho i reckon he'll go on to become a decent player

But he certainly won't be that great a player in the 6 months he's on loan.

I don't think we need him right now with the squad of midfielders we currently have on our books.

Obviously he is one that Ferguson has plans for in the future and I would prefer us to have loanees who have the potential for a permanent transfer (if they are any good), unless we have a dire short-term need to cover injuries, etc.

He would have only be allowed to come here if he was going to start a good few games IMO.I think Watford regard him as First Choice and we don't, simple as that nothing sinister about it.

Saw someone post elsewhere that Fergie doesn't tend to send loan players to the same clubs two seasons in a row.........that's probably a load of tosh though.

How nice to see the word "Tosh" - a great word.
However, I am not sure it is tosh. Ferguson may feel that if a loan player has two seasons with the same club he becomes too attached to them and not Man U.
Some people have questioned Cleverley's desire to come back. I don't see Ferguson being much influenced by the views of a young reserve player.

I would tend to agree that Sir Alex Rednose wouldn't like his loanees to get to attached to a particular club. Also with the arrival of Wellens and N'Godhowdoyouspellhisnamesan his chances would have been far more limited than last season.

milan shud spend sum moneh and gerrim back!!!!

(My impression of the idiots that will be cluttering the phone lines on RL on saturday)

Would have been a decent addition to the squad, but IMO and quite possibly NP's that there are other areas of the squad that need more urgent attention and it is quite obvious that the club is operating within more prudent financial constraints. Given the depth and quality of midfielders in the squad, Cleverley would have been a luxury signing.
