Probably doesn't mean much to people down there but he died today after a long fight against cancer. Was a Celtic legend but also very much respected by Rangers fans nd fans of Scottish football in general, decent bloke as well.Sad news

Too young!!

agreed very young and a legend at celtic, R.I.P

Met him once in a hotel in Glasgow - a very nice man indeed

Unlike Roy Keane, who was with him, and is a complete ****

I went to a couple of games when he was in charge of Celtic in mid 90s. He was the one who got the club going again after a string of disastrous managers and shite players in the late 80s/early 90s, when Rangers were on a roll of winning title after title.

Seemed a decent, down to earth chap. Very sad to hear that he passed away.

'He twists, he turns, his name is Tommy Burns
Tommy Burns, Tommy Burns'

Wasn't he a poor man's Neil Lennon?

I didn't mean it as a sleight btw. Just the way I remember his game.

From my time north of the border, and being a follower of the green & white myself, this is a great shame. He always came across as a good bloke and played in some good Celtic sides in the 80s. RIP Tam.
