If the involvement on money is enough for you to define something as "business" then yes sport is business. But still when it comes to football club ownership, I doubt many get into it to make money. There are far easier ways to make money for people with means than football. Most owners are in it for the prestige and personal enjoyment and I'd put our owners in that bracket. Contrary to popular opinion wealthy people do also have personal interests and hobbies that they enjoy without them being solely focused on making money.

We'll have to see what happens. I doubt anyone invests in building a stadium and infrastructure to make it simply a feeder club. It is obviously the owners decision and their money to spend. Good luck to them. Would have preferred development of our own ground. There are people who want tickets who can't get them.

But if there was going to be no investment in the Belgian club going forward then they might as well kiss their offer goodbye before they've even made it. Could be a mutually beneficial type of thing as mentioned. Nobody really knows but this type of thing doesn't really seem to have affected Man City a great deal and it's not as if it's a football only thing. Businesses own other business. Our football club is a business. It's owned by King Power, another business much in the same way as PepsiCo owns Walkers Crisps or similar.

I absolutely agree. We'll have to see what happens.

They probably just love that awful chocolate they do there. Or Poirot. If it's Hercule then it's fine but if it's that chocolate then they shouldn't pass the fit n proper test IMO.

Or the beer. Lot's of lovely beer down there.

I didn't mean that they were going to sell us yet.

We're still shiny new and making them look real good.

However football ownership has changed since the Premier league was created. Top level football has changed. It went from being the sport of the common man to being a business to being a richman's plaything.

Eventually they'll get bored - we're only Leicester City.

Buying a Belgian club could easily be the first step on the slippery slope.

I truly believe they are trying to build a dynasty here

Reminds me of Bruce Dickinson at Iron Maiden the other day." Why do we still sell this American watered down shit like Budweiser? (more thana little promoting their own Trooper beer) when we make perfectly good beers of our own." Also it doesn't cost £12 a pint like in Scandinavia.

Trooper is a good beer, I like Trooper.

I felt it needed to be said, in case anyone was wondering where I stood on that beer. I have other beer opinions I can share.

Sorry if this already been posted, but is this a sneaky way to get players cheaper. Belgian Tier 2 club buys a striker for 5million Euros and sells him on to us. If we had bought him direct the price would have been 15million say, selling to a PL club?

King Power clearly have plans for this club, I only wish I knew what those plans are, and how they might impact on little old Leicester City. Cheaper players, but it's has to be more than that, a feeder club ? Maybe. How about using our good young players as loanees, the second division in Belguim is better than what is on offer in the English Leagues for developmental purposes suits everyone, they get better players we get back competition hardened players. Add on the investment from KP in terms of improved training facilities, stadium improvements and increased revenues from the commercial aspect. For King Power a way to offset a tax burden that must be massive. However I am only guessing.

Is this not just an easy cheaper path to European competition than finishing in the top 4 of the premier league. They have had a taste, they have undoubtedly counted the money our adventure generated. Get TV money from Leicester and European football elsewhere perhaps?

Do real people actually buy things in duty free?

Just because it doesn't have duty applied doesn't mean it should be cheaper.

Perhaps people should take responsibility for their own spending and not just blindly believe airports are cheap.
