What sort of travel card please as I can buy a 1-6 zone pass but this comes in at just shy of £60 per week?

Yes it is, and yes it does. There's a 6:21 and a 6:55

The £40.10 travelcard is for zones 2-6. If you wanted the option to go via Waterloo you'd need a 1-6 travelcard.

Sorry, yes you are correct. There didn't used to be a train prior to 07:00, seems that has now changed!

Does anybody know a site where I can find the cheapest time to travel by train?

I.E: just provide a start and destination and compare fares for any day and time within a month perhaps?

I'm not aware of any site that can do that.

If you're traveling on a Virgin Trains route this is probably the closest thing to what you want - but it only covers a few routes. https://www.virgintrains.co.uk/best-fare-finder


Generally though, unless there's a sale on (you've just missed the Virgin one), try looking at dates 10-12 weeks from now for the cheapest advance fares. It's also worth looking at Megatrain.

brfares.com will tell you all the fares available for any through journey; you may be able to deduce from it when the cheapest fares might be available but it is really most useful for people who already have experience in chasing those fares.
