Getting greedy now and want to maintain the unbeaten run.

Rotate again. Probably start Vardy. Hopefully Casadei and the new winger start too.

Give JJ A GAME

Polish chap

Ricardo
Faes
Doyle
Justin

Choudhury
Praet (if fit)
Casadei

Albrighton
Vardy
Akgun

Tranmere are 21st in League 2 and the LC is not a priority for us.

So major rotation for me. All players that will start against Hull should be benched aside from those that need a game because they haven't had many minutes this season.

We should also not play anyone that we're trying to move on this week. So the likes of Ward, Iversen, Souttar, Kristiansen, Soumare, Daka and Castagne shouldn't be involved. If any of them are known to EM to be staying, they would come into the following.

Which leaves this sort of thing:

Stolarczyk
Justin Nelson Thomas
Albrighton Choudhury
Akgun McAteer Casadei Marcal
Vardy

Subs: Hermansen, Doyle, Vestergaard, Winks, Ndidi, Mavididi, Iheanacho, Faes, Dewsbury-Hall

I definitely would not play Ricardo. He's had a good little run now. No need for him to get kicked on Merseyside.
I get that, but do we have another player who can play right back and central midfield? The system seems to be built around Ricardo.

JJ could probably do that job. Think Albrighton played there in the last round.

We need to find that out in a game like this. No point building a system around one player who has a history of serious injuries.

Albrighton has played at right back and central midfield in the past. Not necessarily very well, but maybe it's something he could do at this level.

Choudhury has also played in both positions. He played in this system, but on the left, in the previous cup game.

I'd give Justin a go though.

My concern would be that we need to have some sort of back up to Ricardo and if we can’t try it out against Tranmere, when can we try it out?

Sure Justin came on in place of Ricardo in that role during pre season matches

Now I agree with you. More settled than last round. Definitely protect the key players (Winks, Ricardo, Doyle, Nacho, Mavididi) at a minimum.

Stolarczyk

Choudhury
Vestergaard
Nelson
Justin

Ndidi
KDH
Casadei

Marcal
Akgun
Vardy

If only we had any kind of striker from our academy to try out in the Nacho role and to be a possible bench option during the season

Tranmere are dog shit. Play anyone there apart from Ricardo. Even Hamza.

Stolarczyk
Albrighton
Vestergaard
Nelson
Justin
Ndidi
Choudhury
Casadei
Marcal
Akgun
Iheanacho

I'd keep Vestergaard in as I think he's been doing well and it builds consistency. I'd keep Nacho in because he really needs another goal or two soon before his head drops as it is prone to do.

Never thought I'd be interested in anything happening on a Tuesday night in Birkenhead. Life is full of lessons innit?
