Extraordinarily, Tranmere are starting the same keeper as played against us for them in the 2000 League Cup Final - Joe Murphy, now aged 42.

For context, Tim Flowers was in goal for us that day and he's now 56.
And Stolarczyk wasn’t born for another 10 months.

That’s awesome, thanks for sharing BN.

I've never really focused on Joe Murphy when these goals went in. He was a mess for both wasn't he?

In other Joe Murphy news, he joined Huddersfield in 2014 to compete to be first choice with the lesser spotted Alex Smithies. Our mysterious fifth choice keeper kept Murphy out of the side though.

More Murphy news if the game continues to be uneventful.

I remember him playing an absolute blinder against us for either Cov or Scunny.

At Huddersfield he was managed by, briefly, Mark Robins, then Chris Powell, both of whom were assisted by Steve Thompson, and also overlapped with Lee Peltier, Conor Coady, James Vaughan, Danny Ward and Ben Chilwell.
