I'm afraid I think that the trust didn't make nearly as much fuss about this as it should have done.

In my opinion, the decision to originally move to a 1 year kit cycle was a total piss take to fans who were already shelling out a lot of cash to support the club.

Other than making a minor protest at the original decision, I don't remember hearing anything from the trust on this issue. Maybe you were making moves behind closed doors, but I certainly felt that fans were abandoned by the trust on this issue :(

... but it's now back to two years... so, a result, no? :102:

it was only the home shirt that was on a one year cycle? the other 2 kits have been here for 2 seasons

We didn't run a "boycott the kit" campaign no, but we continually raised the issue & took every opportunity to monitor kit sales & question how many were at full price (which the club was reluctant to provide). It took a year longer than we hoped, but the JJB deal still ended early

It's not that major, but join the Trust if you feel that strongly.

I have no idea whether MM just thinks that a two year cycle makes better sense or whether the FT have mounted a successful campaign. Perhaps I missed some messages from the trust where they stated they had been protesting this issue since the original one year cycle announcement (quite possible).

I did join the trust originally but didn't renew my membership when I moved abroad. I'm surprised that overseas membership costs more than normal adult membership. Isn't all FT correspondence sent by e-mail? I don't see where the extra cost comes from...

One more point while I'm at the keyboard...I made this at the time but I guess it got lost on the message board at the time of the takeover rumours - how did the FT expect trust members to make an informed decision on how much the shares the trust owned were worth without the trust members (apart from perhaps a select few) having any information on the financial situation that the club was in?

I don't mean to be over-critical of the FT. I think in general the trust has done a decent job in difficult circumstances.

The club could quite easily have reached its own conclusion regarding the one year cycle from the poor sales. The evidence I have seen doesn't suggest that the Trust has had any more impact than the fans who haven't bought a kit during the past few seasons. But that's just my opinion.

Or any more impact than the fans that have written in on their own behalf. Or the bad press that the subject has had in the Mercury or on local radio.

No it is all down to the Foxes Trust - sign up now :icon_roll

£10ish. You get a warm fuzzy feeling in your tummy knowing you helped save the club. :icon_roll

I note your rolling-eyes smiley, but would remind you that the money that the FT used was largely that which was simply thrown in buckets by people who had no idea that the FT were going to claim the credit for themselves; very little of it came from membership subs.

And don't forget it costs more to join if you live overseas. That's because... eeerrr... eeerrrmmm... emails cost more to send to foreign countries. :icon_roll

Maybe membership should be free then. :102:

Any evidence for that assertation, boc? I.e, the amount raised by subs and the Trust's raffles, etc. after the initial bucket rattling? I lobbed £50 in the bucket ( and paid my subs ) not caring who claimed what kudos was going - I just knew my money was going in some small way to try to get the club out of the sh#t.

Most Trust communications are sent by mail nowerdays.

You are an accountant. I am sure that you can do the sums.
